A beautiful day truffle hunting (despite the rain 🌧)

Was such a great group of pups and humans, I hope they had as great a time as I did!

Had the best session on Sat at our Truffle Hunting Workshop in a beautiful private woodland residence in Surrey.

Had an amazing group of 7 pups and their humans who braved the rain and did so well learning all about truffles and how to find them. Missed a couple of pics of the dogs in work mode, sorry to them 🤦‍♀️

All the dogs managed to find a whole fresh buried truffle by the end of the session which was amazing! Such a fun day we are hoping to repeat in the not too distant future so do get in touch if you are interested in joining the next one!

So, when your dog ignores your recall, it’s not stubbornness—it’s competition. The environment just got a LOT more rewarding than you.

This is where many owners get frustrated, but from a training perspective, it’s actually valuable information:
👉 Your recall isn’t broken—it just isn’t strong enough for this level of distraction yet

What to do:
• Go back a step in difficulty
• Reinforce heavily (make coming back worth it!)
• Use long lines to prevent rehearsal of ignoring
• Train with distractions, not just around them

Spring doesn’t ruin recall—it exposes the gaps in it.
