Unfortunately this is so true!!

I have had clients come from positive only trainers who have adviced them to drug there dog or have them put to sleep and one say if they use a prong collar there dog will die!!

Anyone who knows me and has trained with me knows I am balanced trainer. I would never use any tools that I wouldn't use on my own dogs if needed. Both my boys have used prongs collars and ecollars and both there heads are still attached and they are running around alive!

I would always advise to have a dog trainer show you how to use these tools correctly, there are steps needed to be taken when introducing tools and it is important to condition your dog correctly.

You have to remember that no 2 dogs are the same you may use the same process but may need to adapt the delivery of that process to work with that dog in front of you.

Please do your research on trainers, don't believe everything your told or shown. If in doubt go with someone else.

I know many amazing trainers in many different areas if I'm to far from you I will happily provide names of trainers closer that can help. I am in this industry to help people enjoy there dogs and dogs to have the life and freedom they deserve and will happily help find a trainer to help.

❓POSITIVE ONLY❓

Putting a dog down and condemning them to death because you refuse to use any method that isn't "positive only" isn't very positive...

Sedating a dog into a zombie because you don't like other training tools isn't very positive...

Restricting a dog to a confined life without the chance to thrive isn't very positive...

Telling someone to put down their 8 month old working line dog for having lots of energy and acting like an 8-month-old working dog isn't very positive...

Guilting a young family that lives in an apartment into adopting a large dog with behavior issues isn't very positive...

Telling an older lady their dog would be better off dead then using a prong collar that helps her walk and control her dog isn't very positive....

Bashing other trainers because they don't train dogs using only one method isn't very positive...

Having an owner put a 5 month old puppy on 400mg of trazadone isn't very positive...

Harming dogs because of your own ego isn't very positive...

All of the things I just listed are REAL things that owners have dealt with by "certified positive only trainers and behaviorists."

Anyone can be certified online for $50. It means nothing.

Dogs and their humans deserve real trainers who care and emphasize for both ends of the leash. Trainers who will tailor training to each dog in front of them. Don't be fooled by the "positive" sounding approach. That's just fancy marketing from people who care more about their ego and lining their pockets rather than helping the dog community.

I've chosen to speak out on this because I care and hate seeing dogs harmed. The positive only cult is doing more harm than good to dogs. Dogs and owners that are already having a difficult time. Enough is enough.

A bit of fun for the boys! Should keep them busy for a whole 5 seconds πŸ˜†

Only joking will keep them busier for longer! These slow feeders are not only great for fast eaters but amazing for mentally stimulating your dogs. They have think to work out how they can get this food.

You can pack them with your dogs' food if using raw push into all the shapes and if using kibble add water so it softens then push into the shapes, you can add some yoghurt, sprats and fruit. You can make it as hard or as easy as you would like to.
You can also put it in the freezer, especially for those too hot days to take them out and train. Licky mats are also great for putting into the freezer.

Hand feeding is always my preferred way to feed my dogs, but when it is too hot to train or life just gets in the way on some of those days, I like to use a slow feeder for some mental stimulation and it = tired dogs.

This beautiful girl went home today after her refresher train and stay. Such a pleasure to have. We had lots of fun & cuddles, went to new places, recapped her training and she learnt new things too.

New logo alert! I'm super excited to revamp our logo as business grows we grow.

A little history on the company name TXB actually stands for Thor, Xena and Brax my 3 gorgeous rotties and although I love all breeds Rottweilers have a special place in my heart so having 3 rotties in the logo was a must to match the name TXB-K9 😁

A massive thank you to Maddie for designing the logo you have done an incredible job and have the patients of a saint πŸ˜‰ there was a lot of toing and throwing but we got there in the end, thank you.

It's been a while since we have done some impulse control around food, and it's safe to say Xena nailed it.

It's important to train your dog to have control around food! This is for many reasons. You don't want them grabbing everything that falls on the floor, taking food from your plate or a child's hand, or jumping up at kitchen sides!
You want them to be able to leave food in front of them until told to eat, leave food dropped on the floor preventing them eating something that could potentially poison them, lay calmly whilst your eating dinner and be able to have you or a child walk past with food with no risk of them taking it.
It is important to train your dog how to behave when food is around.

If this is something you are struggling with and would like help with your dogs food control, please message us for further information.

My boys! Love a bit of double trouble training! Is it perfect, no, but practise makes perfect!

Don't get caught up with the many perfect videos of owners and their dogs on social media because that is not reality and sets you and dog up to fail!

Have fun training your dogs, and show the good and bad parts of your training because that is real, and that is what people want to see and when you do get that perfect video that shows your progression.

Some food catching fun! Great for focus, coordination, and mental stimulation. Surprisingly, it takes a lot of mental work to catch food! They have to focus on the food, watch it move, as well as determin whether they need to move to catch it and all this happens in seconds!

Training dogs provide mental stimulation. We take for granted the amount of work their minds are going through to perform that one move! So it is important to take the time to teach them new things, let them make mistakes and learn from it, very important be consistent and patient, Rome was not built in a day! And have fun. Having fun is everything, and your dog will thrive from all the happy, positive energy and good praise. It will strengthen your relationship with your dog.

I'm a big believer with what you put in is what you will get back!

Unfortunately a trained dog does not come programmed! You have to put the work in to have the trained dog.

If your only going take your dog for a walk, throw a ball a few times, feed them 2-3 times a day and have a mountain of toys for them to play with then your dog will never be trained!

You may have your sits, downs, stays but you may not have holding position, recall, focus, engagement, and may have reactivity!

Why! Because your dog does not value you! You are not important! Everything around your dog is worth more to them than you!

How do you become the most valuable person to your dog?
Simple! Train them! Build engagement and an unbreakable bond! Teach your dog boundaries, Teach your dog how to focus on you, mentally stimulate your dog, play with your dog, have fun with your dog, cuddle your dog, become the most important person to your dog, but most importantly be consistent! Consistency is key to your dogs training!
