Say hey to Enzo and Albi!
They've both been such a pleasure to sit!
Enzo and Albi are Cocker Spaniels!
Did you know that the name Cocker Spaniel actually comes from a bird?
Cockers were originally bred to hunt bird, specifically a type of bird called a woodcock.
Cocker Spaniels were also the first cancer detecting dog! It was a cute little guy called Tangle, who had a 56 percent accuracy with detecting it, as research continued his rate improved to 80 percent!
English and American varieties are actually separate breeds! The American breeds have rounder heads and more pronounced eyebrows, with English Cocker's having longer snouts.
You'd probably recognise their sweet faces from Lady, in Lady and the Tramp!
They make fantastic family dogs, having been bred for hunting means they are loyal, and work well with good communication and prompts. They're known as 'happy' dogs, being energetic and having tails that are nearly always wagging! Most of them are very affectionate too, wanting to be close ad cuddled up with the owners!

Heres the second cutie I'm sitting for the week! Her name is Nancy!
Nancy is a Dachshund!
Dachshunds are one of the most popular breeds in the UK, they rank in the top 20 breeds in the UK right now! Theres a strong chance you may be pronouncing their name incorrectly! If you've been calling them 'dash-hounds', I'm sorry to say but you've got it wrong! The real pronunciation is 'dakhs-hoond'.

Their names literally means 'badger hound'. They may only be small but, don't underestimate them! This breed is bred to burrow into badger dens and take on mammals that are just as big as them!

They are actually the smallest hunting breed too!

There are more than 15 colours of Dachshund.

It was actually Queen Victoria who made them so popular. having said herself 'Nothing will turn a man's home into a castle more quickly and effectively than a Dachshund.'

They're fantastic family dogs, being one of the breeds capable of living a very long life. living for approx 12-16 years, the oldest Dachshund lived to be 21! They can be very talkative, a little greedy with food, but overall very affectionate, loyal and fun to be around!
