Finished commission! 🐾✨

This pet portrait was created using a combination of watercolor and pastel. I thought I'd share a few progression photos showing how the piece developed from the first washes and sketch through to the final details and highlights.

I always enjoy seeing the transformation as layers build and the personalities begin to emerge. Thank you for trusting me with this special commission—I hope it will be a cherished gift.

A little look at the journey behind this very special piece… 🐾

Finished at last ✨
I loved working on this beautiful remembrance painting of a beloved Springer — watching him slowly come together layer by layer and seeing his expression really emerge at the end.
There’s something very special about that moment when a painting suddenly feels alive, and this one absolutely had it. 🖤
