Many of you know that as a family we have had a really, really rough time lately. I'm currently still in hospital with my daughter, on our second week on being an inpatient. My amazing pal Sarah has started a gofundme to help me keep Sergeant; i haven't been to work for over a week, so my income is being hammered. Sergeant has been advertised for sale, with a few viewings in the pipeline...and it is heartbreaking πŸ’” we have worked so hard with him & Stevie & her friends have so many plans for him later on.

I hate asking for help. It's not me. But if people could share it would be super πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

A current post in a local group has highlighted just how much this issue is STILL ignored. Keep your dog on a lead if you don't have good, working recall. Don't let your dog run up to on lead dogs.

Your dog does not deserve to be off lead running around over the safety of other dogs. The law is very clear; if your dog is off lead with no control, you are potentially in breach of the DDA.
If your dog gets injured because you allowed it to run to an onlead dog, not only do you risk them being traumatised but you potentially face a hefty vet bill. And the other owner has no obligation to pay it.

Be a responsible owner. If you can't control your dog but want them to run free, hire a bloody dog field

It is with great sadness I have to announce the imminent closure of TPFB.

Many of you will know that myself & my family have had an insane amount of stress thrown at us this year; i have a daughter with a chronic illness that is currently unmanaged & requires hospitalisation, a partner with health issues, my own health issues...then I have had my car written off & my horse at the emergency vets. This is all since January πŸ’” the emotional & financial toll of all of this is immense & sadly I am now having to think about the future of my own animals. If you know me, you will understand the absolute heartbreak that the potential need to rehome them is causing me 😒 I try so very hard to be a good person, I will help anybody out whenever I can. Currently it feels like the universe doesn't see that & is punishing me for some deeper reason!!

TPFB storage costs are Β£90 per month, which I have been covering for the last few months out of pocket. I don't take anything for time or fuel when I deliver food, despite often needing to travel 30+ minutes outside the village to help a family out.
With my own finances pushed to absolute ruin, this is just not sustainable any more. My online presence is sporadic due to the other ongoing issues, which hugely impacts on the input the food bank receives.

I want to say a huge thank you to everybody that has supported TPFB. The number of pets that have been able to remain at home with their families because of their food needs being met is amazing for such a small organisation πŸ’œ i'm so proud of what the food bank has achieved & it is down to everybody chipping in. I know that rhe animals would say thank you if they could because family is everything πŸ’œ

I will have things looking for new homes in the next week or so. Storage units, storage boxes, as well as collars/leads/bedding etc. I will strive to ensure that things are redirected where they are needed as much as possible.

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday & the rest of the week πŸ₯°

Good morning all πŸ₯° again, radio silence, I do apologise. I have a very unwell daughter & now and unwell son 😳 i am in desperate need of cat food, both wet & dry, and have an urgent request for CESAR wet dog food. Although I'm absent on social media, I'm still making sure everybody's animals are fed. There are currently 32 pet owners using the food bank, and supplies sadly are now dangerously low.

I'm currently unable to collect but can accept donations at home - Simons Flats, number 6. Items can also be left at Maypole Pet shop in Wickham Bishops, or at Pets at Home in Maldon - we are the Blue Cross donation bin near the vets at the back.

I will be updating the Amazon wish list, if anybody feels able to donate that way. I'm worried, I won't lie - supplies have never been this low & I am worrying about how I will feed the animals that rely on the service.

Should anybody need anything, please contact me via my personal page as messenger on the food bank page is hit & miss. Jamie L Cross is my personal account. Or text me - 07711907208.

Have a lovely weekend everyone πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯° thank you as always for your support πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Normally I would apologise for the language but not today. Today I am PI**ED.

I have seen several cries for help recently with pet food, and I have also seen some people with sticks so far up their arses they can't help being judgemental & rude 😀

A few facts for you;

* the majority of people who need my help are WORKING families. With TWO working adults in the household

* the number of people using foodbanks in the UK is at an all time high, and the majority of them are WORKING families!!

* rescue groups are crumbling around us with demand. People handing dogs over or in some cases simply abandoning them because they cannot afford to care for them properly

* it is incredibly difficult to rehome an animal that has no vices & is deemed the 'perfect' pet - this means that pets with issues such as separation anxiety, reactivity or other issues are less likely to find new homes

* anybody that works in animal rescue would prefer an animal to be left alone for 8 hours a day at home where they know the routine, than to be in rescue kennels for 23 hours a day on their own surrounded by chaos

* a happy, contented, adult dog will sleep on average for 12-14 hours a day - if a dog's needs are met fully, they will rest for the majority of the day. Puppies & older dogs require even more sleep!

Please, if you see someone calling for help with their pets, tag me. Don't be like the people I am constantly seeing who make judgemental comments about the owner not working hard enough...not having their priorities straight...not caring about their pet. I have 50+ pets (a large number are inverts) that take priority along with my children; pay day consists of food shopping, clothing shopping if needed, then pet food restock. Sometimes my animals have to have less 'good' stuff & have to make do. Is it ideal? Nope. Does it work? Yep. Does it make me a bad owner? I mean, if anyone wants to rehome a neurotic staff, a hyper shih tzu, a sassy pony & a d***y horse....alongside a snake, chameleon, tortoise, hamster, gecko, scorpion & spiders...thinking they can do better...come on over.

Don't be a judgemental prick. Don't assume you know the situation. Don't call someone a bad owner because they need help. If you don't want to help, that's fine. Just don't make people feel any worse than I promise they already do πŸ’”

🌞 Good morning 🌞
I must apologise for absence, we have had a few medical issues in the family that have turned our lives upside down. Should anybody ever need me urgently, please drop me a text/watsapp at 07711907208. I always have my phone on me & can access it easier than the page/messenger - messenger is temperamental at best anyway!!
