Fly has made plenty of progress with all of his groundwork over the last few days and has become much more confident going over the barrels. He still tries to rush when he gets emotional but his recovery time is much quicker now and I am very proud of him. He is also much more confident with his surroundings now and has got used to all the cyclists and dog walkers that go by. Yesterday I got on for the first time and we did some rein positions and walked around our centre marker. Today (day 4) we progressed to our first walk /trot transitions and turns around the markers - all with just one rein for now. Tomorrow is our last day for this block of training so we will just consolidate what we have been working on and hopefully smooth things out a little more.

Fly belongs to UK student, Kelly and is quite new to QS. He has come to me for training and I am working on building his confidence. Today was day 2 and he was much less reactive than yesterday and looking for some connection.

Only one more sleep before I head up to this event. Definitely the stuff dreams are made of: helping prepare wild horses for a life within the human world. All under the guidance of Shane Ransley, the horseman I trust more than any other and in the beautiful setting of Brumby Junction.
