📢 **Congrats Cpl Meechan**

6 Regt’s Cpl Meechan recently took on the remarkable challenge of a 2 way relay swim of the English Channel.

On 17 July, she completed this challenge alongside 6 other RLC personnel in an incredible 22hrs 16 mins, becoming the only military team to complete this feat in the 21st Century and 1 of only 51 teams to do so since 1875!🏊‍♀️

We are beyond proud of her dedication and achievement.

As a Close Support Logistic Regiment (CSLR) our soldiers are required to operate across the rural/urban interface. Often disconnected from the infantry battle groups and having to provide our own force protection requires our soldiers to be proficient at operating in the rural and urban environments.
In order to be proficient at operating in built up areas, the Regimental training wing delivered a series of urban lessons covering building entrance and clearance, advancing up stairways and the importance of communication in the urban area.

The test is the same as the conducted by Royal Marine recruits during WW2 and is a gruelling test of strength and endurance.

Last month soliders from across the Regiment took part in a Transition to Live Fire Tactical Training (TLFTT) package.
The aim was to develop soldiers marksmanship skills in a more complex environment. Shoots included moving targets, respirator shoots and a series of night shoots qualifying soldiers in the use of night sights and imaging devices.

Despite the snow, freezing conditions and some late nights, the troops enjoyed themselves and have all developed their skills with the SA80 by day and by night.

Congratulations to Cpl Keane on being selected as a Coach Developer for the GB Boxing Team! She secured the position after a grueling 12 month assessment. With up and coming events such as the Olympic Games in Paris this is a great opportunity.

Well done Cpl Keane!
