🦉✨ We had a lovely time last Sunday welcoming Oliver Byfield and his family to the centre!

Oliver was the winner of our 2025 Scavenger Owl Hunt and, as his prize, enjoyed a fantastic Family Flying Experience with us. We had a wonderful time flying a great selection of birds in beautiful weather and creating some special memories together.

One of Oliver’s favourite birds is William, our magnificent Chilean Blue Eagle, who kindly made a special guest appearance during the experience — making the day even more memorable! 🦅💚

A huge thank you to Oliver and his family for visiting us — it was a pleasure to have you here and we hope to see you all again soon.

⚠️ Important Visitor Information Regarding Planned Closure Dates ⚠️

Due to ongoing serious health issues with an elderly relative, we are needing to extend our Wednesday closures for the remainder of the season, with a few exceptions.

🦉 Exceptions to the Wednesday closures:
We will be OPEN on:
✅ Wednesday 3rd June
✅ Wednesday 10th June

However, due to centre commitments already booked, we will instead be CLOSED on:
❌ Thursday 4th June
❌ Thursday 11th June

We would like to stress that TBOPC is in no difficulties and, during our open days, we will be running and flying as usual. However, we are a small family-run Birds of Prey Centre currently balancing a busy season alongside family health issues.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming visitors throughout the summer season for our popular African Adventure Display and bird-packed experience days. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from both new visitors and our loyal returning supporters.

☀️🦅 Temperatures may have soared over the weekend, but this week the weather is looking a little cooler and more comfortable for visiting our birds! 🦉🌿

Don’t worry about keeping cool during your visit — we have:
☂️ Shaded seating in our flying arena
🌿 Parasols over our picnic benches
🦉 Shaded areas for our Meet the Minnie’s handling experiences
🍦 A fully stocked ice cream freezer
💧 Plenty of bottled water available

So why not make the most of the lovely weather, relax in the countryside, and enjoy watching our stunning birds take to the skies. 🦅✨

☀️ Weather Advice 🌿🦅

The weather is finally warming up from Friday — at long last! ☀️

All flying displays take place in our south-facing walled flying arena, which can become very warm during the spring and summer months.

From Friday 22nd May, the weather is set to warm up significantly, with temperatures expected to easily reach 25°C and continue climbing. ☀️🌡️

We recommend bringing:
💧 Plenty of water
🧴 Sunscreen
🧢 Hats or caps
to help keep you safe, cool, and comfortable during your visit.

For the safety and welfare of our birds, some birds may be located in their shaded rest areas as the day goes on to help keep them cool and comfortable during the warmer temperatures. 🦅🌿

We also advise wearing light clothing where possible and seeking shade between displays.

We look forward to welcoming you for a wonderful day with our birds but remember we are closed Wednesdays! 🦉🦅
