Geoff is usually off zooming through the long grass at full speed, whilst Mac sticks close by… and they always finish with a game of football! ⚽️🐾

It’s their time, their pace, their kind of fun, and that’s what it’s all about.

If you need someone to pop in whilst you’re at work, or take your dog out when you can’t, Hannah is now offering 1:1 walks and home visits, alongside pet sitting. 🐶

🐾 🌭 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗴 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸… 🌭🐾

We couldn’t resist this one… but jokes aside, it really is a bit too hot for our four-legged friends at the moment. ☀️🥵

Whilst we might be enjoying the sunshine, our dogs are feeling it a whole lot more (can you imagine being out in this weather in a fur coat? 🥵 ) and they don’t always have the option to say “no thanks” to a walk or a hot pavement.

So if your dog seems a bit less enthusiastic right now, they’re not being lazy… they’re being sensible. 😉

Think shady potters instead of long walks, early mornings or later evenings, and plenty of time keeping cool at home. A sniffy garden wander or some enrichment games indoors can go a long way when it’s this hot. And most importantly, it will keep your dog safe and well.

And as always - missing a walk in hot weather won't kill your dog, but heatstroke could and it's just not worth the risk.

🐾 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 🐾

We’ve had quite a few clients ask recently about additional support for their dogs outside of grooming and we’ve been listening! 👀🐾

As many of you know, Hannah had to take a step back after a very full on period. Whilst she’s still not in a position to take on any new behavioural cases just yet, her passion for working with dogs hasn’t gone anywhere… it’s just taken a slightly different shape for now.

So, she’ll be offering a new service:

🐶 1:1 Dog Walking - calm, individual walks tailored to your dog (no group walks)
🏡 Home Visits - ideal for dogs who need company, enrichment or a check-in rather than a full walk

This is a great option for dogs who benefit from a quieter, more personalised approach. 🐾💜

For now, this service is available to existing clients only in Thatcham and surrounding areas, but if there’s enough demand we may look to open this up more widely.

🐾 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝗴’𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗲 🐾

One thing we always like to be really open about is how we approach grooming, especially when it comes to puppies, anxious or reactive dogs.

Progress is always 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗱. 🐾

That means there’s no fixed timeline for when a full groom can be completed. For some dogs it happens quickly, for others it takes time, patience and trust building over multiple sessions, and 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗸𝗮𝘆. Our role isn’t to rush through and “get the job done”, it’s to set each dog up for success and create a calm, positive experience they can cope with.

This is particularly important for behavioural grooms, where we’re working within the dog’s comfort zone at all times. When we go at their pace, we build confidence and that’s what leads to long-term success. 💜

⚠️ At the moment, Hannah doesn’t have the capacity to take on any behavioural cases.

✅ Clive, however, does have a small amount of availability for standard grooms: dogs who are already accustomed to and comfortable with the grooming process. He may not be a trained behaviourist like Hannah, but he is exceptionally with a pair of scissors , calm and patient, and your dogs are always in safe hands with him. ✂️🐶

🐾 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝗽… (𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆!) 🎂🐾

A little heads up from us… it’s Hannah’s birthday on Tuesday 12th May 🎂 🥳 so Clive will be taking that day off to celebrate with her properly.

He’ll be back to normal the rest of the week, and we do still have a few spaces available, particularly on Wednesday 13th May if your pup is due a groom? 🐶✂️

With a holiday coming up at the end of the month, and a little more time off planned in early June for Clive, the diary is filling up quickly. If your dog is due a tidy up, clip or de-shed, we’d really recommend getting booked in sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

🐾 ⚠️🌿 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸… 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘆! ⚠️🌿🐾

It’s that time of year again… when dogs start arriving with their 'seasonal accessories', sticky buds and grass seeds included! 😅🐾

Jokes aside, this is your annual reminder to stay vigilant. ⚠️

Grass seeds might look harmless, but they can cause real problems for our dogs if left unchecked. They love to hide in all the awkward places, like ears, between the toes, and around the tops of paws, and if they work their way in, they can lead to discomfort, infections, abscesses… or worse 😳

A quick check after walks can make all the difference:
🔍 Have a good look in ears
🐾 Check between the pads and toes
🌿 Remove anything that shouldn’t be there

💡 A handy tip: use your fingers to gently open up the toes from underneath and feel along the inside for anything hidden.

📸 Take a look at the second photo to see exactly what you’re looking for (and just how sharp they can be!)

A few extra seconds of checking now can save your dog a lot of discomfort later. 💜

🐾 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 ☀️🐾

It’s finally starting to warm up… hoorah! ☀️🐶

With the change in weather, we’re getting lots of enquiries for coat clips, thins and tidy ups to help dogs stay comfortable as temperatures rise. If your pup is due a groom soon, now is the time to plan ahead and get booked in - our diary is filling up quickly and we’d hate for anyone to miss out.

A little reminder too, especially if we haven’t seen you in a while that our payment policy changed at the end of last year:

With everything that’s been going on behind the scenes recently, we’ve been working hard to get everyone rebooked and back into the diary. 🪮 🧼 ✂️

But… we’re only human, and there’s a chance someone may have slipped through the net. 🙈

We’ll be back home, fully focused on work next week, and we’ve got a couple of spaces available to fill. 🐶✂️

There is good availability at our Thatcham base on Wednesday and Friday, perfect if you’re happy to bring your dog to us and take advantage of our price freeze days. 💜
