How we take care of your dogs in the heat! ♡

We all know it's been particularly hot this past week, so we just wanted to show you how we've been taking care of our Roaming Paws Family pups! ♡

Paws on cool ground, ALWAYS! We have been walking earlier in the day to avoid the pavements and ground getting too warm on those beautiful paws, keeping to shaded woodland and letting them cool off in water.
For those who still needed their midday drop in, we switched to garden visits and if they had a pool, you bet they were in it!!!
And the most important thing was to keep our clients cool and hydrated. Water on walks, in the garden and freshly topped up everytime ♡

A reminder for all dog owners and walkers during warm weather ♡

Ground temperatures can be MUCH hotter than the air temperature, hot pavements and tarmac can burn your dog’s paws in under a minute!

Please remember the “7 second rule”:
If you can’t comfortably hold your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog to walk on...

To help keep your pups safe:
• Walk during cooler hours (early morning or late evening)
• Stick to grass, soil paths or shaded areas
• Carry water and watch for signs of overheating
• Keep off tarmac during the hottest part of the day

A little extra care can make a huge difference ♡

Officially introducing Archie ♡

Archie has been with us since day one! He is the bestest poser boy, loves a ball, is happiest in water and is best friends with Lilly ♡

We have had hundreds of walks together, handled muzzle training and have worked alongside his pawrents with his epilepsy ♡

Now he is getting older, we have Archie on an ad hoc basis and we tailor his walks to him. He is still a pleasure to walk and we enjoy every minute of his company ♡
