On Friday, I said goodbye after 34 incredible years as the beloved pet shop closed its doors for the final time. It was a wonderful send off, but such an emotional day.
Thirty four years is a long time, and it's hard to put into words what this journey has meant to me. I started here on a Youth Training Scheme as a young girl, never imagining that one day I'd be looking back on over three decades of memories. I've grown up here, learned so much, and come so far.
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to my bosses
Mand and Deck. Thank you for believing in me from the very beginning, training me from the bottom up, trusting me every step of the way, and always making me feel like part of the family. That is something I'll always be grateful for.
Over the years, the business owners became so much more than employers they became my extended family. I've been incredibly lucky to spend my working life with such wonderful people, and I'll treasure those friendships forever.
To Joe and Ed , what can I say Thankyou for putting up with me for all these years and making all the delivery shenanigans a bunch of laughs.
A special thank you to the wonderful local businesses who became such a big part of my daily life. To Steph at the laundrette, thank you for your friendship and for making every day so much fun. To the girls at Golden Rolls, thank you for the daily chats, endless apple turnovers, and hot chocolates. And to Claire at the sweet shop, thank you for always being there with a helping hand and plenty of sweet treats. Your kindness, laughter, and friendship have meant the world to me, and I'll miss you all so very much
To all of our amazing customers, thank you for your loyalty, your kindness, and the countless chats, laughs, and memories we've shared over the years. And to all of your wonderful pets—thank you for every wagging tail, happy purr, chirp, cuddle, and cheeky character that came through our doors. You all brought so many smiles to my face and made every day special.
A huge thank you as well for all the beautiful flowers, thoughtful gifts, chocolates, cards, and kind words I received. Your generosity and support truly overwhelmed me and made such an emotional day even more special. I will treasure your kindness and never forget it.
Although this chapter has come to an end, I will always carry the memories, the laughter, the friendships, and the love with me. I feel incredibly proud and privileged to have spent 34 years doing a job I truly loved.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Thank you for making the last 34 years so special. I'll miss you all more than words can say, but I'll cherish the memories forever. ❤️🐾
