Nadine’s Christmas Trick Title 2023!

The Six Tricks to choose from:
• Rocking Around the Christmas Tree (Jumper over the persons arms)
• Sit Pretty for your photo with Santa.
• Step into Christmas (hind legs on a step)
• Touch Rudolph’s Nose (must resemble a red nose)
• Untie a bow on a Christmas Present
• Hide! Santas Coming! (Paw hiding face trick)

You must complete 3 Tricks to receive your rosette! These must be video recorded and they also must be Christmas Themed appropriately (I.E. They must be touching a red item that slightly resembles a round nose)

This is non profit on my behalf, you must pay for the rosette and postage. This is £5.50 in total. There are 5 rosettes, first come first served! 🩵

Good Luck! 🤍🎅🏼🎄❄️

Hello all!
I have some exciting news from my part. I am now a Rehabilitation Trainer at Dogs Trust Shrewsbury 🐾

I am so excited for the future to help as many dogs as I can in the kennel environment and find their loving forever homes.

However, this does mean Munro Dog Training is taking a back step and I will not be taking 1-1 training clients.

This page will be used to update my progress and show the adventures of my dog training.

Thank you so much to all of my clients being understanding and choosing me to help them and their four legged friends.
See you soon!

Who am I?

My name is Nadine, the owner and founder of Munro Dog Training.
Though some might say I ramble too much about dogs, I seemed to have made it into a career, right!? My love for dogs stemmed right from my childhood. After being the nagging child, I finally got my girl, Maddy, who quite literally change my life. She was fabulous. My dog now, Nessie, is completely different but another set of paws that have given me so much love and understanding. After finishing my BA Creative writing at Aberystwyth University, I delved into the dog training world via The Dog Training College. I have conducted countless hours of work, research, case studies and practical skills to be where I am today and I have high hopes to continue onto an MSc Animal Behaviour and Welfare.
My love for dogs can’t be measured by anything we can fathom, though my friends and family could tell you quite quickly what my world revolves around.

I pride myself on my inclusivity, adaptability and passion; I hope that comes across while we work through your training needs and goals.

My message box is always open to those seeking advice, who are unsure or just have a questions.

It’s Halloween 👻
People may not think it, but this time of year can scare dogs and may have detrimental effects to their reactions and feelings around certain things. Here are a few tips to help your dog and keep them safe during Halloween 🎃.

🦇Keep your dog safely away from the front door to prevent them fleeing.
🦇Watch out for those sweets! Xylitol can be lethal for our doggy friends.
🦇Keep your dog at home when trick or treating. Statues & decorations that move and make noises can be pretty frightening.
🦇Not every dog is comfortable being dressed up in a costume. If you are choosing to do this, make sure they are desensitised and make it a fun experience for them.

If you’re stuck on your training, you don’t seem to be getting anywhere and you can’t make something quite ‘stick’?

This is the time to step back and see the dog and their learning abilities in front of you. If you’re trying to achieve big behaviour, those baby steps you’re installing may not be small enough, or big enough? Is your dog too frustrated? Is the technique your using becoming aversive to your dog? Are you asking for a behaviour for too long? Are your sessions too long?

We don’t always get it right, but what we can do is the ask questions.
Being curious, being inventive and listening to your dog is the steps you want to take to set yourself and your up for success.

Behaviour in dogs can sometimes be overwhelming and can make things difficult for you, it can make walks a chore, give you headaches with the barking, and even though you love them, they seem to be at war with you.
At Munro Dog Training, I help you get that bond back with your dog. A lot of the work starts at home in the living room, we work on relationship building and games, work on getting your dog to use their brain and get you or your whole family involved. The training pays off, and you have a family member that is happier and calmer.
My techniques cater to everyone and we work together to get your dog and YOU happy. We treat training like a partnership.
