Just like to say a big thank you to Mandy and Bridget for looking after the dogs while I was away. Unfortunately I was unable to board my plane to Australia from Amsterdam yesterday due to visa issues. I am now back in the Uk until I can sort out the paperwork. So I am back home and will keep you all updated.

What the hell is going on with these dog charities. Unless I want an imported one from Europe it’s seems impossible to adopt one in the UK . They either never get back to you or their criteria is impossible to meet . As a home dog boarder fully licensed I would have thought I ticked all the boxes . I will probably just go and purchase a puppy .

Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my best maté Barney. He was 16 and had cancer and was suffering. He started his life living on a chain in Walcha Australia owned by the local drug dealer. He escaped and found himself in the local vet . I called in to pick up something for the horses and left with a scruffy cheeky Jack Russel cross . He adapted to life on a bed very quickly. But he still had the wanderer lust and ended up in the local pound twice . He would always come home he just loved to visit the town often arriving home in the local taxi . Life changed for both of us when I decided to move to the Uk . As my daughter said Barney is living his best life as he went everywhere with me something he couldn’t do in Australia. I started my dog boarding business 3 years ago and Barney took on the role as boss of the dogs with his quiet by firm way putting them in their place . He was very much respected and loved . The last 15 years has be tough for me but with Barney by my side giving unconditional love it has been so much easier. I am heartbroken but as pet owners we have to not let them suffer . He touched so many different people across the world . He rests in peace under my Aussie bottle brush .

An early start today to beat the heat . It’s not about not walking your dog because it’s hot it’s about walking in the cooler part of the day. Find a shaded walk with plenty of water. All the dogs had so much fun playing in the water today .
