Staple Dogs Run Free

We’ve just been informed of an unexpected road closure between ourselves and Taunton on the road which goes through Badger Street and on past the Greyhound Inn.

The road past the Farmer Arms which comes to us is also closed due to scheduled roadworks so best way to get to us today from Taunton is along the A358.

There are a lot of people in the lanes so please drive carefully and leave extra time for your journey.

Just a quick update
The road from Staple Fitzpaine to Stapledogsrunfree is open
The road from the village hall end ie just after turning off A358. You will need to go through Curland. About a 5 min diversion

***Road closure***
The road in between Staple Fitzpaine and the farm is currently closed and will remain so until Thursday.

The road through the villages will then be closed again all of next week. The best way around this closure is the following:

From Taunton direction:
As you come to the top of the Badger Street S Bends take a left turn and follow along this road until the T-junction where you turn right, and then a right at the next T-junction. Will add 5-10 mins to your journey.

From Chard direction:
Take the a right turn towards Curland as you are coming down Staple Hill (opposite Crossways Farm). Then take the next left after this at Curland Green and then left at the T-junction. Will add approx 5 mins to your journey.

A polite message to say please just use the poo bins in the dog field for your poo bags used while in the field. Please could you not put house rubbish in the bins

Just to let you all know
I’m going to be away for a few weeks
I’m going to be walking the South West Coast Path in Memory of Julie. She sadly died of Motor Neurone Disease in October last year.
It was Julie that really made Stapledogsrunfree happen.
While I’m away Tom and Emily will be looking after the dog field

Hi everyone
It’s going to be cold nights for next few days so I have turned off the water tap until the weather warms up again. There are a few water bottles there if your dogs need a drink.

Also a big plea to pick your dogs poos please and put them in the poo bins
