POSTED ON BEHALF OF A PET HOME, PLEASE CONTACT US IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. IF ANYONE CAN HELP THESE OLDER GIRLIES WITH A HAPPY RAT-TIREMENT LET ME KNOW

Looking for a home for my 4 does.

Located in ✨ Chesterfield✨

Can come with large Pet Planet Cage + hamster cage for intros. You will either need a van or etc to transport the cage, or will need to take it down.

I have an 11mo old baby, and I'm really struggling to give my girls enough free roam time. They're all in good health and have not needed the vets. One does have environmental allergies and breathes noisily when the cage is nearing a clean.

✨Sprinkle✨ A rex girl from rescue. Very curious and loves free roam. You can handle her, but she's shy and would benefit from some trust building. She has poor vision due to having red eyes, so it's best to let her know you're there before grabbing her. Aged approx 15mo.

✨Honey✨ Sister to Sprinkle. Very similar temperament. She's very lovely, just lacking in confidence. Aged approx 15mo.

✨Juniper✨ Very sweet and silly. Loves free roam. Easy enough to handle, but again on the shyer side. I think she'll make a lovely rat though with someone who can spend a bit more time with her. Approx 19mo.

✨ Waffles✨ A bit of a spicy character 😂 She isn't a fan of people, and even in free roam often stays inside. She's come a long way, and you can grab her easily if needed, pet her if she comes to the front, and she'll lick food from the side of your hand. She's very shy though, and prone to nipping if you put your hand near a hammock she's in. She's honestly just happier left to it and with other rats! Approx 19mo.

My girls are used to intros, and I think they'd do great joining a larger more confident mischief, or joining a more experienced owner who can work on confidence with them. They are lovely friendly girls though, just shy.

I can't believe I'm having to make a post like this again...

I've just got home after going to collect a lovely silver fawn girl who was dumped outside with her cage.... luckily a lovely lady managed to catch her so she can come here and be treated and assessed....

PLEASE STOP DUMPING RATS OUTSIDE THEY WILL NOT DO WELL!!

Would you dump your dog or cat like this? No? then why think rats are any different? - Domestic rats are not their wild counterparts, they are not used to the outside and can pick up a multitude of infections, parasites and diseases both airborne and through fluids, some of which can pass to people and be FATAL.

This girl is only around 5 months old and left to fend for herself, and if it wasn't for caring, eagle eyed individuals, she might never have found her way to me. The search is still on for any others that might have been with her...

I'm begging people - all it takes is a quick google to find me or any other rescue that can prevent this happening. We will help however we can

This little girl is quite lucky to be alive, and now faces weeks if not months of treatments and rehabilitation to ensure she hasn't suffered too much from her ordeal. We honestly don't care what your reasons are for having to give up your animals - we would rather you said nothing and brought them here, than leave them to what can be almost certain death.

We currently have 4 girls up for rehoming - they are around 6 months old and little cuties! The roan has some lung scarring so can sometimes sound chesty but she's been checked over by our vet and given the all clear to be homed.

These were originally from a breeder (Broadwaters) but unfortunately they don't have the room to take them in at the moment due to litters so I am rehoming with their permission. Can be split into pairs but the previous owner would like them to be kept as a cohesive group if possible.

If interested in giving these girls their final and furever home, please get in touch. 💜

🚩🚩🚩 WARNING POST 🚩🚩🚩

Tonight it was brought to our attention that someone who was homed girls from our rescue has been breeding from them without our permission or knowledge.

Anna Adamus was given 3 does last year as re-homes from the feeder breeder rescue that had gotten out of hand. Not only has she bred from these rescue girls once, but TWICE this year alone.

We will NEVER endorse breeding from the rats we re-home. Their health and genetic backgrounds can never be guaranteed (and as those of you who have filled in an application form can attest, it's very clear we cannot guarantee health)

Rescue rats can come with a plethora of health issues, and I know from feedback from other pet homes that this litter has developed eye issues.

If anyone is offered a rat from this lady, please know that we DO NOT endorse these animals in any way, shape or form and we will NEVER home out animals for deliberate breeding purposes. It is unethical, unkind, and completely against the ethos of the rescue.

To other rescues, breeders and people who may be considering homing to this lady - please reconsider and let this be a warning to you all. 💜

DON'T DUMP YOUR PETS

I'm sorry but this is going to be a huge rant, because I've seen so many dumpings lately of domestic rats.

THEY ARE NOT THEIR WILD COUNTERPARTS.

Being outside is extremely dangerous for domestic rats, and exposes them to all sorts of pathogens and predation. It's a death sentence for them if they aren't found, captured and treated.

We were brought a dumped rat tonight by a lovely lady when he had been spotted and caught at a local hospital. He's underweight, has several abscesses and showing visible signs of pain. He will require a lot of care and medical treatment if he is to pull through. We will be doing our very best for him, and hopefully he will make it. We don't know if he was dumped alone or as a group but at some point he was someone's beloved pet as he's fine with handling and human presence.

He will now be in quarantine for a month with a long course of antibiotics and several other meds to give him the best chance he has. If the owner had brought them to me, I would have taken them in and prevented this animal suffering how he is.

The lovely people who found him are now on the lookout for any more in the area.

If anyone has any information on his owner, or would like to donate towards his recovery, please message me.

I pray for the day I don't have to see animals in this condition.

We currently have 3 groups of ratties looking for their furever homes - please be aware they require experienced homes and not suitable for beginners, one or two may have to be a rats rat rather than a human companion. Please do not ask us to split them as they are bonded groups!

2 x intact male bucks, around 15 months old. (Agouti hooded rex and Roan Rex) - Custard and Crumble. These boys have been with us a while and still waiting to be chosen, Custard (the roan) is confident and doesn't mind being handled, whereas his brother Crumble is very scared of everything but can be held and just needs some more confidence building.

2 X intact male bucks, 12 weeks old. Scratch and Sniff (Black hooded and PEW) were born at the rescue from a heavily pregnant doe from the recent feeder breeder intake, both are very skittish and need someone with the time and patience to work with them and bring them around, they will come up to the bars to say hello or take treats but are uncertain about humans

4 x intact female does, one is around a year old, the others around 6-7 months. (Himilayan, Blue Point, PEW and topaz hooded) vary in confidence, the Himi and blue point can be handled, Himi will let you know with a nip if she's not impressed with you. Will take treats happily and allow strokes, but need work with overall handling

If anyone is interested in offering any of these Rattos a loving home please fill in our application form and put which group you'd be interested in

Form can be found at https://forms.gle/KQ6k9uFUEpFxQSYFA

Standard rehoming fee of £15 per rat applies

Could you love a Rescue Rattie this Valentine's Day?

Everyone deserves a little love on Valentine's day, please show your love to one of our resident ratties by helping towards the costs of their every day care. We currently have 110 rats with us, some of which will never find their furever homes 🥺

We've been seeing an increase in rats coming to us for surrender and it's putting an extra strain on our resources - can you find it in your heart to help?

Spread a little love to those in need 💜

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT PART TWO!

To complete my foundation bucks are these demon boys from Jon and AJ Black-Savage at Rattie Asylum Stud - 1 black and 1 Choc who we have lovingly called (based on the absolute lunatic girls in our pet group from this lovely couple who I'm proud to call friends)

🥜 Rattie Asylum Nuttin' But Trouble (aka Nut) 🥜

And

🧈 Rattie Asylum Butter Wouldn't Melt (aka Butter) 🧈

All 5 bucks are now being bonded and getting to know each other at the Asylum and I had the pleasure of meeting all of them this weekend - and I can honestly say I am in love with them all already! All of them are such cheeky and individual personalities and I'm marking off the days until they come to join us! (And I'm under no doubt that the Rattle Asylum boys will continue to corrupt the Blaise Rattery boys in the meantime and going forward 😂😂

We've also now set up our rattery page over at Relish Rattery as we want to keep our rattery and rescue very separate, so please jump over there and join us on our journey!

But wait there's more! 👀

Keep updated for the reveal of some absolutely bloody gorgeous girls!
