Our focus has been on helping Ozzie feel more comfortable and confident in different environments, particularly around other dogs. For dogs like Ozzie, the sight of another dog can feel overwhelming and create a lot of conflicting emotions and behaviours. That’s why it’s so important that we guide both dog and owner through these challenging moments with patience, structure, and understanding.
Seeing the progress Ozzie has made in just a few weeks has been incredibly rewarding. We’ve gone from moments where handling him around triggers felt very difficult, to now seeing a dog who is noticeably less conflicted and beginning to feel more relaxed during challenging situations. Just as importantly, his owner’s confidence has grown too — and that makes a huge difference to the journey.
When working with rescue dogs, sessions like these are not about expecting perfection in lead walking or obedience. The priority is helping the dog feel safer, calmer, and less overwhelmed in the world around them. Alongside this, we aim to provide owners with the guidance, education, and support they need to feel more confident and connected with their dogs.
Progress is never rushed, but every small step forward matters 💙
