One week ago we rehomed 3 rescue hens from the British Hen welfare trust the hen’s had lived in a barn their whole lives with no natural light & never seen the sky or walked on grass with the wind in their feathers.
If not for this wonderful charity they would have been sent to slaughter at only 15-18 months which is so sad as they make really lovely pets with fresh eggs every day.
We’ve enjoyed watching them sunbathing , trying new tasty fruit & veg & exploring our garden.
I recommend owning hens to anyone they are so loving & funny .
I volunteered with the Sutton Coldfield team & i’am looking forward to rehoming some more beautiful girls soon .
