UDATE ON BRIDGE CLOSURE!!
LATEST UPDATE FROM CE HIGHWAYS
Waterless Bridge Budworth Road
Waterless Bridge on Budworth Road has sustained significant damage to its south parapet wall following a vehicle strike.
Unfortunately, for safety reasons we’ve had to fully close the road. We’re working to try to re-open this as soon as we can and appreciate the frustration this causes. Please bear with us.
Due to the extent of the structural damage below road level, it is not possible to maintain a safe traffic lane alongside concrete safety barriers. As a result, the road will remain closed until repairs are completed. Concrete barriers will be installed at the closure points for added safety.
We will inspect the bridge and plan repairs as a priority because of the nearby Pickmere Lane closure and the impact on the area.
Thank you for your patience while we work to make the bridge safe
