What a great day yesterday at the wonderfully organised Dressage by Sister's Equine Events. So much fun for all and thankfully we beat the awful weather!

🥳 Well done to all competitors,fab scores! 💪👏

Yesterday was an educational day for Pongo. I retired before we even went down the centre line 🙈 BUT.......it was worth it anyway. It's so important to listen to our horse's. I was on him warming up for too long and he just over cooked. There is so much learning involved for horse and rider when retraining racehorses. Not only how long to warm up,but how they respond to other horse's in the collecting ring,how they cope with the atmosphere etc... it's a big ask from what they're used too and what they're expecting to happen next!
Yesterday was not our day but I truly believe that Pongo has taken away much more from having a pat and a trot around when he was too tense to perform than being pushed to do something he found overwhelming and a little too much.
There is always another day and his day will definitely come 🤍🦄

We look forward to seeing you all again in November ❤️🐴

A professional and passionate service provided to the highest standard. Having been Head Girl for a 4* Eventer for 3years,Second Head Girl and Travelling Head Lass for Trainer Jamie Snowden for 3 1/2 years and Yard Manager on a Livery Yard for almost 7years I have a wide range of knowledge and skills for different disciplines. I have Internationally Evented in the past and hope to one day get back to it. I currently have my own horse 'Sunny Bill' who I compete BD,I backed and broke him myself as a 3yr old. Breaking and educating youngsters is a passion of mine. My goal with Sunny is to one day ride Internationally and get back into my Top Hat and Tails! At Lucy Lloyd Equestrian the services we can offer are: Competition Schooling Breaking Rehabilitation Full,Part and Assisted Livery We aim to encourage everybody to achieve their goals whether it be for the enjoyment of riding or qualifying for major Championships.
