Why is turnout so important?
Horses are not designed to be alone, lymphatic drainage requires regular movement, and horses reach emotional relaxation under the bonds of being with their kind. Their digestive system is designed to trickle feed fibre on a constant basis.

Balance this with the requirement for enough land, keeping horses in turnout all year with biblical floods, and deep bogs that offer no benefit. To add, many yards will not allow feeding hay in the fields....

We are often asked how we mange year round turnout, so we have a little video.
The investment £££ and work that goes into this is labour dense, requiring many full time staff.

Looking forward to free-jumping tomorrow with Senior Eventing Coach Johanna McDonald . A handful of our livery horses will be taking part; some for work variety and fun, others for education, and some to keep away the winter excess energy bug 🐛 😀

We will be looking to build confidence for each horse, help them improve proprioception, having the freedom to choose their fences and enjoy their work.
