As the temperature is getting into the 20βs this week please remember that whilst we love the hot weather, our fur babies donβt cope very well in the heat! βοΈπ₯΅
As it heats up Iβd like to remind my walking clients that I will be taking extra care to keep everyone safe both in the car and during walks, and may need to adjust walking times where necessary to ensure this. I will discuss with all clients as the temperature starts to rise and we can make a plan of action going forward. However, please be advised, as soon as it gets too hot I will be cancelling walks, their safety means the world to me!
βοΈIβd also like to remind owners to use common sense, walk earlier/later in the day, stick to shaded areas with water, avoid hot pavements and hot sand which can get 2-3x hotter than the temperature in the air, and absolutely do not, under any circumstance, leave your dog in the car.βοΈ
Also keep in mind the breed, age and size of your dog, and whether they are in season, these can all have an impact on their level of risk. π
No dog ever died from a missed walk but they may very well do so from a hot one! π₯Ί
