IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A PIANO TUTOR 🎹 THEN LOOK NO FURTHER … 👀

Because it just so happens that I’M ON THE LOOK OUT for newbies to join my wonderful team of students. 🤗

I have piano lesson slots available for new students (children age 5 & above or adults welcome). 🙂

This is to have the opportunity of weekly 1:1 piano lessons with me - Miss Lisa, a friendly and fun piano tutor based in Sutton Surrey teaching piano with music theory included at beginner through to intermediate level. 👩‍🏫

I offer 30 min or 1hr weekly slots and the slots currently available range from Monday-Saturday between 3:30pm-8:30pm. 😬

👉 My students are taught at a calm and enjoyable pace where they can steadily develop their own musical-selves. They explore a series of course-books, learn to read music, play songs they love, build skill/confidence and much more through the unique and fulfilling instrumental journey that I provide. A journey packed with seasonal events, performance opportunities, and you could also try a bit of singing and ukulele-playing too! And just to top it all off… there’s even an in-room ‘Snack-Shack’ and ‘Gift Shop’ for that mid-lesson biscuit-boost or perhaps a music-themed souvenir to take home. 🍪🎵

And in a flash the Easter holidays have left us… but…

That’s another ‘eggciting’ Easter event with the students accomplished, we hopped til’ we dropped! 🐰

Games, decor, treats… so many treats - I basically threw you a party! And to think you probably then went on to do egg hunts and likely tripled your supplies haha! 🤪

A huge thanks to the 14 students who took part in Easter-week 2025 at ’Piano Lessons with Lisa’ you made it all worthwhile and I hope I gave you an Easter to remember in return! ☺️

Miss Lisa here!

How naughty of me that I haven’t posted about anything on my FB business page since September 2024! Just confirming I’m still alive and kicking haha!

Hence, you’re now going to be treated to a series of post updates from the last 6 months.

First up are some shots from a little trip I took to West Sussex in August 2024.

Check out the last of the 9 pics it’s a well-loved grand piano in a charity shop window. A little bit of me wondered how much to have it shipped to Surrey, and would it be unreasonable to climb over it in order to get in and out of the teaching room 🤔! Hopefully someone bought it in the end and gave it another chance to be enjoyed.

The duo photo was of a trip to London to watch Mamma Mia and a different place where I got this drink! Yes that is candy floss hanging off the drink and oh yes it was lushhhh! A strange but super combo, I can’t remember the venue now but you’ll find it somewhere underground like most fancy venues in London!

📝 🖥 EXAM RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT 📝🖥

‘Piano Lessons with Lisa’ is thrilled to be celebrating 🏆 MICHAEL 🏆!!!

On 2nd August, my student Michael sat his official ABRSM Grade 1 Music Theory exam and now that the results are in…… we must celebrate! 🥳

Michael was awarded a DISTINCTION, with a superb top score of 7️⃣5️⃣/ 7️⃣5️⃣ !!! 🤩

What an achievement! To pass an ABRSM exam is a huge milestone and a reflection of all his positive progress and sturdy knowledge. 🙌

Myself, Michael’s family, and here at ‘Piano Lessons with Lisa’ we are all very proud, needless to say I know Michael will be delighted with his result and thoroughly deserves to be. 🥳

Having completed many ‘mock’ Music Theory papers as part of preparing for the real thing, Michael showed great effort, patience and persistence. He flew through the practise papers in a fraction of the time allowed and was bagging some really good scores from start to finish, I actually think he enjoyed doing the papers and never complained once, such a cool dude! 💪

Michael is a very musical student and has played other instruments including the trumpet and violin in the past. He loves to learn and is always intrigued, eager, and unphased by the idea of a new challenge. He loves knowledge, and is always ready to expand on his learning. 😎

To Michael, you’ve really impressed me throughout your journey. In lessons, in concerts, and in practise, you have always given your all. I have seen you flourish over the years particularly in your piano playing skills. You have really settled into the team and are a treasured student to me, you arrive keen, you’re always helpful and polite, and you are a great learner and listener. Because of your commitment, focus, tip top behaviour, and gratitude for your talent, you will continue to excel and exceed expectations. Through piano lessons and the passing years I have seen you come a long way. You’ve naturally grown to be more talkative, confident, and outgoing. You’ve gone from the once shyer and smaller Michael who entered the room age 5 to the knowledgeable, kind (as ever), hard working, talented music star that you are today! You were a wonderful student then, just as you are now. You’ve never once lost interest or given up and you’ve gone from strength to strength along the way. You are the perfect role model for your younger sister who is also doing well on her piano journey and she will see how amazing her big bro is doing and follow in your trusty footsteps. 🥰

I look forward to the exciting journey that lies ahead and to help you prepare for your Grade 1 Piano exam and the upcoming ‘annual Student Concert’. Both of which - I know it, you know it, everyone’s know it, will be further successes to add to your many great achievements so far. One can never have too much awesomeness, you’ve proven that! 💥

Last few days left of the SUMMER HOLIDAYS! 6 weeks has whizzed past! 😲

Hoping all my students have enjoyed their summer with friends and family on days out, trips abroad, at barbeques, in paddling pools - the list goes on I’m sure! 🏖

Updates about me… well I bought 2 new pairs of crocs (if you know then you know 😎), I’ve eaten lots of ice cream 😋, I’ve contemplated getting my old roller blades out and still might or maybe even a bike ride, I’ve done a car boot sale, I’ve been to the seaside multiple times, I’ve driven to new places, I’ve done some lovely countryside walks, and I’ve spent too bloomin’ much on new stickers for the homework sticker folder, it’s like sticker-mania! I can hear the imminent words of “I can’t pick between this one and this one” (with the occasional “you choose” and then picks the opposite anyway!), and then we have the “are these new scented stickers” (proceeds to sniff the living daylights out of them!). The student’s books and folders are like a sticker-collectors paradise, and their work a work of art (most of the time 😉). 🖼

Looking forward to starting a new term with my wonderful pianists. This September is a big change for some of my students and so a special mention to the following students who are going to HIGH SCHOOL in September (I can’t quite believe I’m saying that!) …

Wishing the best of luck to Daniel and Emma who both joined at age 5, Noah who joined at age 9, and Aarav and Zach who both began lessons this year. 🤩

I just know your new teachers and friends will be lucky to have you and you’ll fit in perfectly just like you do here at ‘Piano Lessons with Lisa’. 💯
But, you’re probably going to look too grown up in those new uniforms which I’m sure will seem strange at first! 🙈

As September approaches I’m excited to begin the annual student concert preparations and for the students to pick their 2 song choices (this will partially involve Christmas music as always and so an advanced warning to parents about the early onset of Christmas music in the home! 😬).

Several students are starting their next book(s) when they return in September and some will be taking a theory exam or preparing for a practical exam or their next grade. Congratulations for everyone’s progress this year so far. 🥰

New students have shown admirable knowledge/skill/commitment just months into their journey and my more experienced students are continuing to make great achievements also. 👏

After a relaxing summer break I know you’re all going to come back refreshed and ready to put the ‘winter work’ in! At least that’s what I’m hoping anyway! 😆.

🎶 EXAM RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT 🎶

🏆 Here at ‘Piano Lessons with Lisa’ we are celebrating my wonderful student DANIEL !!! 🏆

On 12th July Daniel sat his official ABRSM Grade 1 Practical Piano exam. After a speedy return of results, let us all be inspired by his fantastic achievement! 😬

Daniel was awarded a MERIT, with a fantastic score of 1️⃣2️⃣8️⃣ / 1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣!!! 🎹

I’m so proud of Daniel and all he has achieved to date whilst on his learning journey. In November we celebrated Daniel’s Distinction score of 71/75 for ABRSM Grade 1 Music Theory, and now he has managed to bag a high Merit for his piano playing skills at a Grade 1 standard too. Two very admirable achievements within a year and very much deserved. Daniel received some lovely feedback/comments on his piano performances highlighting his deliverance of the mood, tempo, rhythm, and style of the pieces. Not to mention almost top marks on his sight reading with not a single pitch mistake. ⭐️

This was Daniel’s first experience of an ‘in person’ piano exam and he smashed it with flying colours by getting 28 marks more than the pass mark! 🥳

Daniel works hard and he is passionate about the piano and music in general. In the past he has taken part in ‘rock steady music school’ and has even been doing a bit of singing of recent. He learns songs on the piano from YouTube that have not been assisted by me and even performs in school recitals of his own accord. 😌

Recently for a school recital he re-performed ‘A Million Dreams’ after previously playing it at my annual student concert, as well as giving a performance of ‘The Final Countdown’ which he taught himself recently. He went and smashed these as well! 🙌

Even his younger brother who is also a student of mine has been treated to Daniel giving him some extra lessons at home, sharing is caring! 🥰

Such an all round star who has been a pleasure to teach through the years. Super proud of the player he already is and is becoming. ☺️

We’re all very proud of you Daniel and all that you’ve put in to get where you are now in your music journey. That’s another achievement ticked off. Mission accomplished! 👏

Here’s to the next grade, you better be ready for us, we’re on the ladder now and we’re here to climb our way to success (we already are a success clearly but we’re greedy for more). 😎

The title ‘World’s Best Shoes’ goes to my student Annabel for the best ‘piano’ trainers ever!

Yes they actually play the sounds of the notes, yes the keys can be pressed down, and yes they are amazing, but no this won’t pass as having practised haha 🤣!
