We’re not pulling on lead to dominate you.
It’s just hard for us sometimes.
Here’s the honest dog truth…
🔸 A lead is hard. It stops us doing the one thing dogs are built to do — move and explore.
🔸 Smells are basically social media for dogs. We’re just checking our notifications.
🔸 When we’re excited, worried, or overstimulated… our legs go faster than our brains.
🔸 And if pulling has worked before (we got to the sniff)… our bodies remember that.
Loose lead walking isn’t “obedience”… or “disobedience” — it’s a skill.
And skills take practice.
But it’s also teamwork. 💛
So if you’re struggling, try this…
✨ Try a longer lead
✨ Try giving us a bit of slack (tight leads make big feelings bigger)
✨ Try thinking of it as our walk too
✨ And could we practise walking together?
Because we’re not trying to be difficult…
We’re just trying to be dogs in a very exciting world

Hi, I just wanted to let you know my current situation.

I'm currently suffering with pneumonia
and can't work for about 6 weeks as I need to recover before resuming training.

I'll put another update as things progress.

With the wet weather upon us, it can make it harder taking your dog for a walk: it may be a shorter walk, with no sniffing so you don't get drenched, or you may decide to miss a walk altogether.

So what can you do to help your dog indoor?

1. Why not try some short bursts of training. It could be things they already know, like sit or down or you could teach them a simple touch:your dog will love the interaction with you.

2. Don't give them their usual bowl of food, try scattering it and letting them sniff it out.

3. Try hide and seek. Use something your dogs really interested in and hide it somewhere and ask them to find it. Don't make it too difficult at first until they understand the game

4. Snuffle mats and licky mats, with their favourite treats, help to keep your dog calm.

5. Natural dog chews, like beef trachea will keep them entertained for a while.

Have fun!
