It has gone beyond anything we could have ever imagined. 💔😭

For months, we have tried to stay strong. We have tried to keep our heads down, focus on the dogs, and put on a brave face for the public. But the sheer level of calculated cruelty, physical intimidation, and systematic malice we are facing behind the scenes has left us completely traumatised, exhausted, and in a state of absolute disbelief.

What started as a standard rental dispute and a contested vet bill with our previous landlord has escalated into a nightmare that feels entirely surreal and can only be described as hellish.

What went on was so wrong and nearly drove Lauren to su***de.

We never imagined we would have to capture video footage of our former landlord—a registered veterinary surgeon—physically blocking our front door with a heavy industrial waste skip while we were inside, intentionally trapping us and our rescue dogs inside the property.

We never imagined that a commercial transport company we paid and trusted to move our dogs, operated by Polly Dunkerton, would breach basic data laws, leak private operational logs straight into a dedicated cyber-bullying group driven by that same veterinary practice. We never imagined what we believed to be a trusted Defra approved transporter would then embellish her story and manipulate the transport of 10 dogs from Dover to us in the Midlands into a libellous story of puppy smuggling and making further false claims that we are being investigated Defra.

And we never imagined we would see the day where anonymous internet profiles would weaponise a routine stray dog rescue—where Lauren responsibly saved a dog from active traffic and got it urgent veterinary care—and broadcast severe, fabricated lies to the public claiming she was "arrested for abducting dogs."

Lauren has never been arrested and never been detained.

Because of the sheer terror and fear caused by these relentless attacks, we have been too afraid to ask the public for help. 😞

Instead of reaching out, Lauren has spent months hiding in the shadows, quietly using her own personal life savings to fund the rescue's daily operations, food, and vet bills just to keep the dogs safe and shielded from the negativity. The psychological and financial toll of this ongoing stalking, filming, digital harassment, and the constant fabrication of fresh lies has been utterly crushing.

We are now fighting back. These anonymous trolls, bullies and liars nearly destroyed the rescue, nearly destroyed Lauren & put the lives of the dogs in our care at risk.

They got away with it for 9 months spreading their fear mongering, manipulating photos and using intimidation techniques better suited to an episode of Eastenders

They hid behind anonymous profiles and nicknames thinking they safe to spread their lies and propaganda BUT we know who they are. We warned them. We asked them to stop, because we prefer spending our money on saving dogs NOT having to use it on legal fees.

They have not stopped and in their arrogance got so cocky in their sheer malevolence they have now undeniably revealed themselves. We now have ALL the evidence we need to force them to stop through the courts and claim for damages.

No one, no matter what deserves to be intimidated, bullied, harassed, physically attacked, stalked, feared for their life and for the lives of animals they love and care for.

It is time for justice.

We now need you to stand up and fight with us.
Lauren has already paid out thousands in legal fees but we now need £12,000 to allow our solicitor to take the next critical steps against these people and if necessary get the High Court, to clear our name, and silence these bullies permanently. That way they will never do to anyone else what they did to us.

We are a small, grassroots rescue that receives around £480 a month in regular funding support. That money belongs to the dogs, not a high-level legal battle against a wealthy machine. We cannot fight this terrifying Goliath alone anymore. Our personal funds are pushed to the absolute limit ensuring a roof is kept over the dogs heads & funding the day to day operational needs of running a physical rescue.

We are NOT down, but we ARE traumatised, and we are exhausted so we are urgently asking our community to step up and become our shield to help us stop this injustice,

No professional vets should ever use their position of trust and power in this way and we thank everyone else who has come forward to share their own personal traumas inflicted upon them by this veterinary practice - we are doing this for you too. No one and especially no pet owner should be bullied by a vet with their own animals used as weapons against to extort money. We feel your pain because we can relate from our own horrific experience.

💳 How to Support Our Fight Securely via Stripe

We have just launched a dedicated Legal Defense & Justice Fund via Stripe so we can access the funds immediately and keep them completely separate from our rescue van fund.

Unfortunately, due to strict compliance and regulatory procedures, solicitors are legally unable to take crowdfunding donations directly from the public. Stripe is an independent, 100% secure platform used by global entities (like Amazon and Booking.com) to process payments safely. It means the Trust never sees or stores your card details, and it protects our cash flow from being maliciously targeted or frozen by online trolls.

If you believe that independent animal rescues should be protected from professional bullying, corporate betrayal, and physical malice, please stand tall with us today.

Stand with us and fund our fight for survival directly here: https://buy.stripe.com/4gMeVd2NYcs3gZFa7q7IY1G

The truth WILL win. Thank you for holding the line with us when we need you the most. ❤️

Help us spread the word and let’s all together STOP cyberbullying and these online trolls.

"DOES MY BUM LOOK BIG IN THIS?"
Boo's backside is looking so fluffy, it needs it's own postcode!

For dogs with skin issues like Boo, a patient & gentle groomer is vital. Grooming may cause pain or sensitivity, making the grooming process frightening & prompting them to snap.

A skilled, confident groomer uses welfare-first, low-stress handling to prevent trauma, ensuring the dog's physical & emotional well-being.

Finding a patient, gentle, & confident groomer is vital for rescue dogs because it prevents severe retraumatization & builds lasting trust.

A skilled groomer uses positive reinforcement & low-stress handling to turn a terrifying ordeal into a manageable, & eventually positive, experience... as we can see here for Boo & her magnificent bottom!

Getting Boo to the point of tolerating a professional all over body SCULPT (can we call it anything else 😆), nail cut & paw pad trim has been a long road, but with time & the right groomer, we have got there...& doesn't she look wonderful!???

What a SUPER DAY OUT for Tess! 🐾

We had the absolute best time taking our sweet, gentle 9 month-old Lurcher pup, Tess, for a day out at the wildlife centre last week! 🌳🦆

As a gentle & submissive girl, Tess handled her big adventure like a true professional. She did amazing with her car travel, met lots of new people, & got to experience completely new sights & smells. 🚙✨

🎥 Watch until the end of the video to see how Tess handled the ducks! Did she pass the ultimate 'duck test'? Let us know what you think in the comments! 👇🏼

We specifically love taking our rescue dogs to the wildlife centre because it has a strict 'lead-on' policy—meaning we never have to deal with off-lead dogs! It provides the perfect, safe environment for our rescue dogs to learn & build confidence while surrounded by other dogs, new sights, smells, pushchairs, bridges, streams, woodland & even an orchard🌳🌾

During the walk, Tess was very intrigued by the ducks & geese, but she was a very good girl who knew exactly when to step away. She didn't pull too hard on her lead at all and was incredibly easy to redirect with a simple prompt. We are so proud of her! 🥰

Tess's Adoption Profile: ✨

🐾 Age: ~9 months old (Lurcher Puppy)

🐾 Personality: Gentle, sweet, & submissive

🐾 Dog Friendly: Absolutely loves other dogs! She would be fantastic in a home with a resident dog to show her the ropes. 🐕❤️

🐾 Health: Microchipped, fully vaccinated, & has passed her veterinary health check. 🩺

Tess is fully ready to find her perfect forever home! If you are looking to adopt Tess or want to support the work we do, please send us a private message or give us a call 💌🐕

Emergency Appeal: We are struggling to trap or rescue lost dogs. We urgently need a van. 🚐💔

The last few months have been an exhausting test of survival for The Max & George Trust. We survived a brutal 28-day eviction, secured a temporary yard to keep our dogs alive, and have been quietly funding everything out of our own personal pockets because the fear of public trolling paralyzed us from fundraising.

But today, we have hit a critical crisis that impacts the entire community. Not only was our van taken back but our 4x4 vehicle is now off the road & believed to have been sabotaged.

Most of you know that a massive part of our mission at The Max & George Trust is helping you, the public.

Giving back to the community wherever we can.

When a family pet goes missing, or there is a dog roaming loose, we are the ones who step out to help track, locate, and bring them home.

But right now, we are completely grounded.
Without a vehicle, we have absolutely no way to transport our large, heavy dog traps, thermal imaging gear, and emergency rescue equipment.

We have been called to help the dog wardens capture a couple of scared and lost dogs that have been out running near a busy road tonight, but we cannot get our trapping equipment to the scene.

And these are not the only dogs that are lost right now needing catching,

A rescue van is a literal lifeline, not just for us but for the entire community:

🐾 Lost Dog Rescue: Transporting heavy traps and tracking gear to bring missing pets home safely.

🐾 Emergency Vet Runs: Getting sick or injured sanctuary & rescue dogs to a clinic instantly.

🐾 Supply Trips: Collecting kilos of food and fresh bedding donations every single week.

🐾 Responding to Canine Companion transports to groomers & routine plus emergency vet visits

🐾 Taking dogs to groomers, behavioural appointments and even a day out to a secure field.

We need to secure a reliable, safe, second-hand van formatted and suitable for animal and equipment transport so that no one can ever pull the wheels out from under this community rescue again.

We need to raise £8000 / £15000 to purchase a reliable used van, or we need a generous business or sponsor to step forward with a vehicle donation.

For months, we have carried the financial weight of this rescue alone in silence. Today, we are asking our community to lift us up and get us back on the road so we can keep saving those lost pets.

How you can get us moving today:

* Donate to the Van Fund: Every single pound goes directly into a dedicated vehicle purchase account:

JustGiving:

Or by Stripe direct to our dedicated link

🚚 Vehicle Leads & Donations: If you are a local car dealer, business owner, or individual with a reliable van (such as a Ford Transit, Vauxhall Vivaro, or similar) that you can donate or sell to us at cost, please DM us directly.

🙏 Share This Post: Help us help more frantic pet owners. You never know when you’ll need us.

Thank you for believing in our mission, no matter the obstacles.. Let’s get our equipment back on the road and bring more lost dogs home. 🐶❤️

BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY ITINERARY:
Find the perfect spot in the shade, flop down, & do absolutely nothing. Pure bliss ✨

Sunshine, zero plans, & maximum shade. Doing absolutely nothing never felt so right! 💤

As temperatures rise, make sure YOUR pups stay cool, safe, & hydrated.

Here are a few quick tips to keep in mind:
🐾 Check the pavement: If it's too hot for your hand (hold for 5 seconds), it's too hot for their paws!
🐾 Never leave them in a car: Not even for a minute with the windows cracked.
🐾 Provide shade & water: Make sure they have a cool spot to relax & fresh water to drink.
🐾 Walk during cooler times: Stick to early mornings or late evenings.

Drop your favorite bank holiday snaps of you & your pets in the comments! 📸🍦

The best kept secret is finally out !

You may know already, but just in case you don’t …

🎉 WE ARE STILL STANDING! 🎉

4 properties in 2.5 years. Let that sink in for a moment.

Over the last 30 months, our rescue has faced an unbelievable amount of upheaval. We have been uprooted, packed up, and forced to move four separate times due to sudden evictions and rental instability. It has been an exhausting, stressful journey for us and the dogs.

But we didn't quit.

Through every single hurdle, our priority remained the safety of our animals.

Even now, operating out of a temporary industrial yard next to a demolition site, our care hasn't wavered—a fact fully celebrated by the RSPCA and police during their recent visits! 🐾

Today, we are celebrating our resilience by launching our ultimate master plan: OPERATION FOREVER HOME. 🏡✨

Watch this space 🐶🐾

Gorgeous Tess is still looking for her forever home🐾

Tess is a lurcher cross and is the last of Ethel’s puppies to find her family. Tess was born on 27th August 2025 & she’s been incredibly unlucky, with appointments falling through.

Tess is fully vaccinated & microchipped but too young to be neutered at this time.

She is currently in foster and doing really well! She is playful & loving ! She would love a brother or sister to have fun with !

She loves her toys & in true lurcher style frequently murders them, ripping out their squeaker hearts triumphantly!

Tess is great with children but she can be a bit boisterous so this is something to bear in mind.

As a lurcher she will have a high prey drive so again, this is something to be mindful of.

Who do you know that could give Tess a loving home ?

Please help us find her that sofa because she really does deserves it & please, don’t let this post go unnoticed or scrolled past, send her some love because she is the last puppy left & watched all her siblings get chosen and leave.

NATIONAL RESCUE DOG DAY 2026

RESCUE IN CRISIS
UK dog rescues are in the midst of an unprecedented national crisis. Shelters across the country are at breaking point due to a "perfect storm" of the cost-of-living crisis, post-pandemic behavioural issues, & soaring intake rates that heavily outpace adoptions.

OUR MISSION
We take in many unwanted, abandoned, or dumped dogs—but we are proud to do things differently. In addition to the small, fluffy furbabies you see in most rescues, we also say YES to the "difficult cases." We take in street dogs, XL breeds, dogs with bite histories, & those who have been let down by other rescues. We offer them a permanent, loving home for as long as they need it… even if that is forever.

Our dog rescue is deeply committed to community impact. Through our Ambassador Dogs initiative The Positive Paws Program, we improve mental health, alleviate isolation, & bring joy to both school children & the elderly. Additionally, our Canine Companions scheme creates meaningful bonds by pairing displaced senior dogs with elderly members of the community. To further support our neighbours, we also discretely provide essential dog food & veterinary bill assistance whenever possible as we strive to ensure that no dog or person in our community feels abandoned, isolated, or left without help during life’s hardest moments.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
* Adopt: Give a deserving dog the second chance they’ve been waiting for.

* Foster: Open your home temporarily to free up vital kennel space.

* Donate: We always appreciate supplies like food & bedding.

* Volunteer: Share your time & give our dogs the hands-on care & love they deserve.
