🐾When your dog is more focused on you and visually connected with you, they are less distracted and less reactive to their environment.

❤️ Being more interesting and engaging and making working with you fun will also increase the amount your dog engages with you.

🎾Why not try including fast movement and play and adding appropriate challenge to your exercises!

⭐️ It’s critical for your dog to see YOU as the most valuable part of their world. This not only builds confidence but also helps to eliminate the stress and anxiety caused by any other distractions.

👉🏼 YOU have the ability to lead them through different scenarios and affect their experience.

🐾This is especially important in scenarios that are new/that they would otherwise find nerve wracking

✔️ When your dog learns that focusing on you leads to rewards and positive experiences, it strengthens their bond with you.

👉🏼 Starting engagement training early helps make this behavior second nature. Use high-value treats to reward your dog each time they choose to look at or interact with you.

👉🏻 By becoming the most important factor in your dog’s environment, you’ll experience better control, faster responsiveness, and a dog that makes smarter choices.

❤ A focused dog is also a calmer dog, as they won’t become overstimulated by their surroundings.

🐶🐾A dog being able to do NOTHING and stay CALM is an underrated skill that will serve you and your dog for life!

👉🏽One of the most important things for a puppy/dog to learn is just to relax and be calm in different environments…

❤️Remember that when your dog is relaxed and calm they are happier and make much better decisions and be able to process things much easier but they can only learn this with us teaching them and offering clear guidance.

👉🏽 When a puppy learns to be calm and remain in a sit or a down stay for a period of time, even around busy areas or with outside factors creating distractions, this will translate to confidence and the ability to be calm when they are older and they will be able to do this on cue!

👊🏽🐾🐶 Repetition is key when teaching this to your dog even if you have to do it again and again. So, every time they get up, guide them back into a down with a lure/gesture.

⏱️🏪Build up the time settled in a down, in different environments (by a park bench, outside shops, at a cafe etc).

❤️ Always reinforce that what they’re doing is right with frequent rewards and praise and make your commands as clear as possible!
