Cockerpoo and curly coat grooming guide
To all owners with a cocker poo /cava poo or any other curly coated breed here is a little
basic guide to keeping your curly pooch knot free
What age to bring them - as soon as they are allowed to walk outside get them in fir a first puppy groom package to get them used to coming , the sooner the better
Grooming times - every 4 to 6 weeks for a full groom is needed , you canโt go longer than 6 weeks if your dog knots up in 6 weeks you need to come in every 4 weeks , alot of owners prefere to come in fir a bath every 3 weeks and a full groom 6weeks , in my oppinion this is the best routine for any curly coat to keep them clean and tidy and knot free and happy
DO NOT BATH YOUR DOG AT HOME , unless you are blow drying your dogs hair and combing it through each time as your blow drying then you should never bath a curly coat , THE BATHING CAUSES MATTING when nit blow dried properly or not groomed out as your drying , YOU CANT LET IT DRY NATURALLY AND LEAVE IT
9 times out of 10 if we get a badly knotted curly coat itโs been getting bathed regular at home , and left too long between grooms
Correct combs and brushes - you only need 1 brush and 1 comb , a slicker pin brush and a large toothed metal comb , use slicker pin brush first and then use the metal comb , GOLDEN RULE IS IF YOUR COMB GETS STUCK ITS NOT GROOMED PROPERLY , if you need help on learning how to groom properly dont hesitate to ask we are always here to show you and to help you get it right
LAST BUT NOT LEAST , please listen to your groomer if they say youโve gone too long , itโs very painful for your dog to dematt out knots and is not fair on your dog to go through it , please think of your pets feelings and listen to the groomer we are here to help your pet have the best experience whilst in our care
