Meet Tiki 🦜

Tiki is a Green Cheeked Conure. She is going through her 1st moult and her owner noticed a change in behaviour. She got quieter and grouchy.

The owner thought, perhaps some toys can keep her entertained and improve her mood thus her owner decided to get some toys from us. After shredding up some of our toys, her mood improved. I think it's safe to say she is happy with the toys.

Sometimes our feathered companions need some distraction especially when they are going through things like a moult or hormone changes. It's important for us to keep them enriched to support them through it. They can't speak to us but their body languange speaks louder.

We've been asked several times 'What type of tools do you use?'. Here are the 2 common combination - a bamboo chopstick and a power drill.

We added grooves to the bamboo chopstick to make it easier to drill through the materials.

So why not just use the usual drill bits? Mainly because drill bits can't get rusty and we'd want to avoid the risk of having rust particles getting onto the toys. It's not the most efficient tool but it's safer for the birds.

If anyone have any better ideas, feel free to let us know in the comments. For now, this combination is what we find to be safe and efficient.

What a weekend. That's a wrap at . Thank you to everyone who has visited our booth, said hi to us and the birds and bought some toys. We hope your bird enjoy the toys. Some of our toys are sold out at the moment but we will be getting more materials and restocking them in the near future. We really enjoyed being able to meet you all. Hopefully we'll see you all again next year.
