Finally seem to be getting to the end of one of the wettest hardest winters I’ve shod through. This time of year with the sunshine and showers it’s a dangerous time for laminitis. With 2 cases already this week please be vigilant.

Full Time experienced Head Groom required for private hunting yard located just outside Hadleigh Suffolk. REF 613

This is a live in position with lovely self contained accommodation offered along with a competitive salary.

We are looking for someone preferably with previous hunting yard experience who understands the demands of managing a yard of 5 hunters.

Must be able to turn horses out to a very high standard-clipping, plaiting, trimming etc.

The ability to ride well and to get and maintain horses fitness throughout the year.

The opportunity to hunt for the right person.

The family also have 4 point to pointers so experience working with TBs would be a great advantage, which also makes the role interesting and varied.

Current groom relocating but highly recommends this position.

Lorry licence ( 7.5 T) would be great but not a dealbreaker if all other boxes are ticked.

The family are located in a beautiful location and there are many other grooms within the area who have are all very social so this is not an isolated position. Also part time grooms are also employed so there will usually be at least two people on the yard.
