Remember to regularly treat your dogs for fleas and tics. If you visit a wood or forest and it's been wet, wash your dog's feet as soon as you can, to help prevent Alabama Rot. I've seen a couple of reports for the Midlands, so be careful out there.

There have been a couple of cases of Seasonal Canine illness reported at Chambers Farm Wood. Remember, if you take your dogs to an woods, give them a shower when they get back to make sure you get rid of any harvest mites. Keep your flea and tic treatments up to date.

What we need are a few days of consistent COLD weather to kill of these nasties!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of Cedric, the Rottweiler I was treating. He was a lovely gentle giant with an equally large personaltiy, and made me laugh. I only knew him for about 6 months and I sincerely hope the treatments helped to enhance that last 6 months of his life. My condolences to Denise and Martin, there will be a huge hole in their life, but they had the chance to make lots of memories. Run free dear Cedric.💖💖🌈🌈

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2022!!

I started treating Cedric in August for his cruciate ligament and arthritic shoulders. At the time, he was starting to exhibit cruciate issues in his right hind leg, but the vets would not do anything because of his kidney function. When I started, the urine tests were 2.3, a month later, they were at 1.8 which was an improvement. The latest results have just come back and they are 0.75!!! His meds have remained unchanged for 15 months; the only change that he has had, is the massage treatment. There has been no change in diet or exercise regime either.

Both Denise and I are in agreement that the massage is working effectively on Cedric's lymphatic system to shift the waste from cell metabolic activity to where it needs to go to be expelled.

This last week when I saw him, he was definitely more 'bouncy' and even allowed me to do some passive movement for the first time, on his right side, so we are now starting to get somewhere.

Treatment is never forced on the dog, I only do what they allow me to do and we are gradually building trust. I'm so pleased at his improvement in himself and of course, his kidney function.

Let's hope it continues to improve!!! He will have another test in about eight weeksk time.

Cedric is beginning to benefit from his sessions, but I am still unable to do the passive movement I want to do, but his legs appear to be starting to straighten on the move, which is wonderful. It's only vey slight, but it's a start. He brought me his bed the other week, which I've been informed is unheard of, so I am truly honoured, and every time I visit, he stands or sits by me and puts his head under my chin for a cuddle. Bless him.

Cedric had had a little bit of a set back when I visited him last Tuesday. One of the other dogs had bashed into him and he'd hurt his neck, however, his owner had carried out my instructions and with a little bit of metacam as well, he was almost back to where he was on my previous visit.
Still, we had a good go on him again this evening, and he was more relaxed this time around. He even brought me his cushion he normally lies on, which he doesn't do for anybody, so I felt very honoured; also when he tucked his huge head under my chin asking for a cuddle, so I obliged!! he then rewarded me by stepping on my foot! Ouch!!!! Bless him.
See him again in four weeks time.

Different view of Cedric, moving away.....

21/08/2021

Finally getting back to some semblance of normality. This is my latest client - Cedric a 10 year old Rottweiler. A lovely, friendly chap, who has had a TPLO on his left back leg. His right cruiciate ligament is damaged, but the vet can't operate because he has a kidney condition. He also has arthritis in both shoulders.
As you can see, he is mobile with difficulty; unable to stand on 3 legs, and won't lie on his side; so on my first visit, I was unable to perform any passive movement.
I took this video before I started any treatment, and I am planning on taking another video after we finish the four sessions.
The first session consisted mainly of effleurage all over, and a partial 'wringing of his neck'.
On the second visit, I got a surprise; for there he was, standing on his hind legs, front ones on the barrier! Not only that, but he had been poking one of the other dogs i.e. standing on 3 legs, and even 'dipping', where he put his front legs flat on the ground and bum in the air, wagging his tail!
This was amazing after just one week of treatment, but thanks to his owner for carrying out my instructions during the week, which most definitely helped towards this vast improvement.
Here's hoping he shows further improvement on session 3. I'm hoping to firm up the muscles to support those knees and straighten the legs up when he walks, but he's obviously feeling a lot better already, as we've released the tension all in his neck, shoulders, back and hips.
