We had a fantastic time at Gillingham School's Careers Week, where our very own Farm Vet, Martha Twist, shared insights into the daily life of a vet and, hopefully, helped to inspire the next generation!

"Just wanted to pass on a massive thank you from Gillingham School for Careers Week. Your generosity was greatly appreciated and I believe it to have been a great success."

Martha shared: "I think these kind of events are really important to further knowledge of the profession and show the younger generation what day to day life looks like as a farm vet. Always helped by some gory photos to grab their attention and generate lots of questions!"

It's wonderful to know the students found it useful! We're passionate about supporting young people interested in veterinary careers.

Get in touch if you would like to discuss work experience opportunities, or to ask the team to participate in careers events. We also offer courses for young people looking to explore the veterinary industry.

Yesterday Becca was invited to speak and present a case study at the National Youngstock Conference, this year held in Birmingham.

The conference; for vets, farmers and others involved in the industry, had a range of speakers on different topics, with a focus on sustainable calf resting for the future.

Becca’s case study utilised data collected as standard for our Youngstock Group members to audit success to changes made in the calf rearing process on farm.

If you are in interested in finding out more about what the Youngstock Group could offer you, please get in touch with Becca or Lucy at the practice.

“All sessions very informative”
“The common conditions session was the best practical I’ve done on a course”

“I will take all I’ve learnt back to work with me as it’s all good learning experience. I took a lot from it”
“Brilliant and educational overall”
“I will look out for more on farm – mobility scoring cows as they come in the parlour, and building up an understanding of what we are feeding rather than just feeding”
“Helpful and well presented, taught me a lot”
