A sad update 🐾

As many of you will know, I badly broke my leg back in August & had to suddenly stop my dog walking whilst I tried to recover.

Unfortunately, recovery hasn’t been a straight line. I was told for weeks I needed surgery, but due to NHS wait times was left too long & ended up having to heal without it. After lots of stress & many physio sessions, I struggled with pain trying to become active again so that I could run my business & pay my bills (fellow dog walkers, please make sure you have personal injury or illness cover sorted, because if something happens & you don’t have it, trust me, self-employed life is very tough).

I never expected an injury to change my life so much for the short term & after a few months I tried to continue on with my business, however due to pain in my leg & some other separate health issues, I had to make the extremely tough decision to sell my beloved van.

My van (affectionately known as the Pawtybus) has been my pride & joy for almost 5 years. I absolutely loved how many of your dogs knew the sound of it & how excited they would get when I would arrive to collect them for their walkies.

A local dog walker has bought the van from me & may be using it for a little while before she is able to get the signage removed, so if you see it driving around & don’t recognise the person in the driving seat, that is why.

This sad sale marks the end of an era & I am sorry to say I will be closing my beloved Cotswold Tails dog walking business. I’m eternally grateful to all of my incredible customers, who have become friends along the way. Thank you for trusting me with your beautiful dogs (and other pets if you’ve used me for visits).

After successfully running my business for almost 6 years this has been a very hard conclusion to come to, but I know that it’s the right decision for myself and my health at this time.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to my customers, your trust & support allowed me to turn a little dream I once had into a successful business & I will never forget this special time in my life, which I got to spend with the best furry friends anyone could ever ask for.

Love and best wishes,
Charlotte ♥️

If my life was a Pixar movie… 🍿🐾

These AI apps are so smart, it’s scary! I literally typed in a few words and it created this for me in about 30 seconds… thank god there aren’t AI dog walkers yet! 😅😂🦮

In 2020 I took part in Sober October and raised £310 for Macmillan Cancer Support. This year I’ve decided to double that challenge…

Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity very close to my heart because of the amazing care they provide to millions of people living with cancer in the UK.

Unfortunately, like many others, my family has been personally affected by cancer in a big way. My lovely mum was diagnosed with breast cancer twice and thankfully has beaten it both times, her younger brother sadly passed away from skin cancer when he was only 18, and my husband has lost both of his parents to this truly evil disease.

I was already planning on doing Sober October again this year to raise some more money for Macmillan, but I’ve decided to take it a step further this time… I’m calling it ‘Sober Peloctober’, because not only will I cut out alcohol for 31 days, but I will also be doing a Peloton spin class every single day for the entire month!

This is going to be a tough challenge for me because not only do the Peloton spin classes absolutely kick my arse, but, as my friends and family know, I really do love a glass of wine…

So I beg of you, please help to ease my pain by donating using the link below. A donation even as small as your morning coffee will help make a big difference to people’s lives who are living with cancer.

Thank you! ♥️
