๐ง We are noticing these new โk9 swim centresโ popping up recently & I believe itโs time that we explain what the difference is between using these & of course what we do best โฆ Hydrotherapy ๐ฅฐ
๐คฉ There is almost no problem with your dogs swimming for fun.. most of our own dogs absolutely love it! However if they have joint ailments, spinal conditions or injuries then their position in the water, their swim techniques & the amount they do in water can do more harm than good.
๐ง This is where we come in, this is what youโre paying us for!
We see those small changes in position, techniques & fitness allowances from week 1 to week 10 or if youโre with us long term then we can recognise changes and spot new ailments years after the initial diagnosis.
โญ๏ธ We are qualified, insured, registered & between us have over 40 years experience!
โญ๏ธ We plan each session designed to address specific conditions & injuries, we aim to improve strength, mobility, pain relief & recovery.
๐ง Another thing I canโt vouch for is if these โswim centresโ are following the same guidelines with pool quality that we have to follow being registered, but itโs good to know & understand that we test the water in house 3-5 times a day & we send off water samples on a monthly basis to outside labs to test the water for bacteria (E.coli and coliforms, pseudomonas and cryptosporidium)
๐ฅต Our water temperatures are also set at 29-31 degrees all year round which are needed for therapeutic purposesโฆ I believe a lot of these โswim centresโ are a lot cooler.
๐ง Swimming for fun is general exercise, while hydrotherapy is a structured therapeutic treatment with specific medical or fitness goals! ๐ฅฐ
