Where do we start! It’s been a hectic few months getting the cattle ready for the dispersal sale and following Billy’s accident five weeks ago we have had tremendous support from family and friends to get us there, especially Kevin, Stuart M, Stuart A, Gordon, Graeme and Colin. Sale day was very emotional but exceeded our expectations. We would like to thank Isla Campbell for the brilliant job she made of the photos for the catalogue. Richard and Carol Rettie and their fantastic team for preparing and dressing the cattle so expertly. United Auctions for their guidance, especially Margaret Owens-Smith for her patience and Murray Rainnie for his efficient auctioneering skills. Iain MacEachen Livestock Haulage for the smooth transport operation. The British Charolais Cattle Society for all the promotion and lovely tribute below. Sandy, who has been our right hand man from the start for his dedication to our cattle and taking over when Billy was out of action. Sophie, Emma and Amanda for dressing up and showing the bulls. Tom and Sheena for helping out on show day. We sincerely thank all our buyers and under bidders and wish everyone well with their purchases.
Glenernan Herd Dispersal Achieves Outstanding Success at Stirling
Monday’s Stirling Bull Sales concluded with the highly anticipated dispersal of Billy and Moira Milne’s renowned Glenernan Herd. We were privileged to be asked to support the sale, where the power of pedigree Charolais genetics was rewarded with an exceptional trade from start to finish.
Buyers from across the UK seized the opportunity to purchase genuine cattle that have performed consistently for generations and now look set to establish exciting new families. It was particularly encouraging to see both established Charolais breeders and new enthusiasts investing confidently in high-quality pedigree animals.
✨ Sale Highlights:
Kinclune Superman, a four-year-old stock bull, topped the trade at an impressive 31,000gns, selling to Jim Innes, Dunscroft, Huntly.
Female trade peaked at 21,000gns for the much-admired Glenernan Urosie, who has already enjoyed a successful show career and looks set to continue her success in 2026 with her new owners JP Clark, Kinnahaird, Strathpeffer.
Leading the cow and calf section was Glenernan Posie, dam of Urosie, along with her bull calf — selling to Jim Innes, Dunscroft for 16,000gns.
This tremendous sale was a true testament to Billy and Moira Milne’s passion, dedication, and lifetime commitment to the Charolais breed. We extend our sincere thanks and best wishes to them in their retirement, and to all purchasers — we look forward to seeing the continued success of Glenernan genetics in their new homes.
