Pony No.1.
14/14.1hh gelding he is a senior pony so max weight to carry 8 stone. He’s been there and done it all. Perfect for someone looking to do light / medium work , he can still jump a course of 40cm happily. We wouldn’t want him doing any bigger now but over the years he’s taken many of our children round courses of 90cm. He looks after his rider at all times 😊

Pony No.2.
14.2 gelding max weight to carry 10 stone. He’s forward going and loves his work , he can be strong so looking for a child / teenager with a bit of experience in riding forward ponies. Great out hacking , he will be strong in open spaces but manageable with the right rider. He loves to jump , jumping courses of around 70/80cm.

Please note this is a full loan where the loaner will have the responsibility of livery fees, shoeing worming etc.
If enough enquiries potentially it could be a shared loan.
The ponies will be kept in full livery mon to Friday where they will be looked after for you, mucked out , turned out etc and there for you to enjoy when you want to. Weekend is your time to muck out etc. This is just a few pointers for people never owning or loaning before.

What an incredible opportunity I have been given to teach at Featherbed. I started riding at Featherbed when I was 8 and fell in love with Donna’s teaching and dreamed of myself coaching. After a few years of begging Donna 🙈… as soon as I was old enough she made it true.

Since then I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and learnt so much from Donna and Tanya and have had a lot of fun teaching alongside Eleanor with all the antics we get up to 🙃. I’ll miss seeing the fantastic riders every week and hope you all keep in touch. If my plan to become an events manger is successful, I hope to see you all at the competitions I’m organising!

I wish everyone the very best of luck with all of your plans, dreams and adventures. With a bit of confidence, a good position and remembering to ride your corners you will all do fabulous! 🌟

Hey everyone, Eleanor/Nora here 🙂 x

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all of you. Starting in 2016 with just the hope of being able to ride, to teaching you all was completely unexpected. Thank you Tanya for all the love, kindness and support and thank you again Donna Brookes for all the opportunities 🥰 Starting with the little tots on a Sunday morning who would always ask if you would be teaching. I have absolutely loved seeing them grow into lovely, fab riders. Seeing them progress finally getting a rising trot (yes it took agessss with some of you😂) was so rewarding and made me want to teach more often and more advanced lessons. Being supervised while teaching the big 45minute lessons was so scary at first, (mainly with you watching Donna 😂) as well as the parents and eager kids, it’s tricky having all eyes on you. But with helpful tips and pointers I became more confident and engaging - talking about my socks and having random conversations seemed to do the trick 😅😁 This little post was just to say thank you for helping me flourish and become more confident with myself, as well as with my teaching. Although I haven’t been there every weekend recently, any days off I would come and teach as I loved it so much - so thank you Alisha for being there, you are an amazing instructor and I have loved growing up together 😘 Parents please thank your children that I have taught at featherbed, past and present, as they have been an absolute pleasure to be around, thank them for making my job so much fun and something that made me want to get out of bed in the cold and wet (mostly🤪). And thanks to you, the parents, for laughing at my jokes and answering my questions when your kids wouldn’t 😂 Without your support and commitment for bringing your children every weekend, in the freezing rain or (super rare) sun, none of this would have been possible. So thank you and I will miss you all so much 🥰 I have made friends, memories and a family for life ❤️❤️

Changes ahead due to Staff shortages.
As of February we will no longer be open on Sundays.
We will open Tues 4.15 , Friday eve lessons and Saturday.
We will have some availability for some of our regular only riders to ride on the above days.
If you would like to send a message and we get back to you over next few days with availability.
