As Volunteers' Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank each and every one of our incredible volunteers for your dedication, kindness and endless support. ๐Ÿ’œ

Our services simply would not be possible without the time, energy and compassion you all give so freely to support local people affected by cancer.

But on this occasion, Iโ€™m sure Team Smiles for Miles will back Wigtownshire Wellbeing and Cancer for giving a very special mention to our amazing leader, Kay. Year on year, she inspires us all with her commitment, determination and heart.

To date, alongside the team, she has helped raise an astonishing ยฃ24,980.25 through the Kiltwalk for local people affected by cancer. What an achievement! ๐Ÿ‘

Thank you, Mc KP Kay, for everything you do โ€” and thank you to every single volunteer who continues to make such a difference in our community. ๐Ÿ’œ
The amount raised for 2026 has risen to ยฃ8895.25!

๐Ÿ’™ A huge thank you to Park Primary School for their incredibly kind donation of ยฃ60.43, raised during their Easter service organised by the amazing Primary 7 pupils.

We were delighted to be invited along for the presentation and to hear all about the hard work and thought that went into raising these funds. Your kindness and community spirit mean so much to us and will help support local people on their cancer journey.

A special thank you to all the P7 pupils for choosing to support WWAC. As you prepare for your transition to high school, we wish each and every one of you the very best for the future โ€” exciting adventures and new opportunities await you all! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ’™

08/05/2026

Yesterday we celebrated the 1st anniversary of the Wigtown Cancer Drop-In with a lovely afternoon tea supplied by North Street Deli - Wigtown . It was wonderful to see some new faces alongside familiar ones, and to spend time together reflecting on what a supportive and welcoming group this has become.

We really love being part of this group and seeing the friendships, support and kindness that have grown over the last year.

A huge thank you again to Wigtown Community Shop and Newton Stewart & District Round Table for supporting the Drop-In and helping us continue to provide this space for people affected by cancer.

Please remember that everyone is welcome to come along and be part of the group - whether you are living with cancer, supporting someone, bereaved, or simply looking for understanding and connection. ๐Ÿ’œ
