Why is Dixon's Dog Food frozen?

At Dixon's Dog Food we freeze our product, not just to extend the shelf life of the preservative free recipe but, it's also because we use potato and other starchy vegetables. Why is this important? Well, when you cook, cool then freeze a starch like potato it undergoes a process called retrogradation. This is where the molecules in the starch change their structure and turn into resistant starches. This resistant starch is harder to digest but, given the amount of fibre in Dixon's Dog Food that won't be a problem. The harder to digest starches pass through the small intestine and ferments in the large intestine, feeding it with gut friendly prebiotics and nutrients promoting a health gut microbiome.
These resistant starches also have another benefit. Freezing the potato will also help drastically lower the effect the starches have on the glycemic index meaning a lower spike in blood sugar levels.

Nose and Paw Balm 🐾
It's not "food" but it's 100% natural, non toxic beef tallow!!
Used to sooth dry paws and noses after long walkies.
If you see Dixon or Shadow out their walk, please say hello and get yourself a pot of nose and paw balm for free!!

Directions for use, Best used after walks:
1. Ensure paws/nose is clean.
2. Rub the surface of the tallow to generate heat and melt a thin layer onto a cloth or finger.
3. Apply to the given area and massage in well
4. Allow to balm to re-moisturize.

Hello! I'm Dixon.
I'm done with eating overly processed dog food. I want real food like you eat. I don't see you eating dog food either!!
My dad and I are creating a recipe that I can eat and enjoy while being easy to digest to help prevent an upset tummy because, I can't tell you if there is something wrong with me.
