🌿 Grass Seed Season is Here! 🌿
I’ve seen quite a few grass seeds in dogs paws recently, so I just wanted to put a little reminder out there🐾
As satisfying as it is for me to remove them, grass seeds can actually cause a lot of pain and discomfort for our dogs. Once they work their way into the skin, they don’t just stay there, they can continue to travel deeper, which can lead to infections and in some cases, a trip to the vets.
Some signs to look out for include:
🐶 Constantly licking or chewing their paws
🐶 Limping
🐶 Swelling or redness between the toes
🐶 Suddenly becoming sensitive when you touch their feet
If you think your dog may have a grass seed, don’t leave it too long. Feel free to send me a DM and pop into the salon. I’ll happily have a look, and if it’s something I can safely remove, I’ll do my best to help get your pup feeling comfortable again. If it looks like it’s gone too deep, I’ll always advise you to see your vet as soon as possible.
A quick paw check after every walk can make all the difference this time of year! 💚🐾
