🌞 We are enjoying the beautiful sunny weather, air cons are on & we have new sun shades to go up.

🐝 Things are certainly getting busy here now with bookings..

⛱️ Our new holiday boarding area, 'The Chartwell', is practically complete 😀
I decided to improve the original idea, making our biggest area meeting RWAF standards!
It's available to book & thank you to those booked already.

📖 BOOKINGS: As dates fill up, spaces are becoming limited in🎒 School term times & bank holidays especially.

⭐ OUR SERVICES ⭐

🫂 Bonding: We provide bonding sessions, which is a mix of the 24/7 & daytime methods. These require alot of my time to be on hand & overnight if needs be to make sure your bunnies get my full attention.
I'm here to help advise the minimum days required based on the information you provide, for myself to give you that successful outcome & we've had many 🐰🐰
Your also welcome to book for longer should you wish or feel more comfortable doing so.
The more personalities their are to bond, the more days may be needed.
A full true bond can take upto 3/4 months, so you will need to be committed by sticking to some restrictions once they're collected from myself.

Please provide your own rabbits pellets, so not to upset your bunnies tummies.

✨🥕 Carrot Cottage🥕: Area 1 & 2 are 6x6ft & gated. Great for larger groups or can be divided in two, for unbonded bunnies.
Hygenic non-slip vinyl flooring, hay/litter & water stations, with hidey house, blanket, tunnel/toys. Heating & Aircon.

✨Chartwell: Our largest 12ft 5" x 6ft 5" enclosure witch includes a 5ft double hutch (2025 makeover) with hygienic non-slip vinyl flooring.
The area is shaded, slabbed & grassed whilst meeting the RWAF rabbit space guidelines. Beds, blanket, hay, litter trays, tunnel/ toys etc included.

✨Foxglove 🦊: 5ft double hutch (2024 makeover) with hygenic non-slip vinyl flooring. It has it's own private 6x4ft artificially grassed run area, log stump🪵 3ft gate, & roofed making it a shady corner. Beds, blanket, hay, litter trays, tunnel/toys.

⛱️ Holiday Guests.. Yesterday the lovely duo, 💙 Hobnob & Oreo 🩷 joined us in the 🦊 Foxglove area for their first visit.
They have settled in really well xx

🌞 Wowza it's warm one for the buns & myself, predicted 27c in the shade here tomorrow at Windy Ridge, so keeping freezer stocked with ice bottles..
Don't forget to leave a gap at the top to allow the ice to expand 😉

🫂 Bond Story of 🩷 Bambi & Buddy 💙

🩷 Bambi (magpie) arrived for her first bond with us, she is a friendly girl but definitely about of a diva.

💙 Buddy (Smoke previously called Coco) had been adopted to be a companion for Bambi. A lovely friendly & timid boy who had, had a bond with his brother before they were both castrated.

Day 1 started with a very confident Bambi, happy moving about exploring the area & of buddy.. however Buddy was abit vary of it all & especially as Bambi got near or touched him.
Things did continue to progress nicely & Bambi would go & lay next to, even on top of Buddy on occasion, should she choose to.
Unfortunately late afternoon/early evening a small fight started, I separated & within minutes it happened again. Thankfully things calmed down again for abit & then it started again!

Although i noticed that Buddy was naturally on edge, it was actually Bambi who is fighting him & going to him to fight again each time.
So i decided that was enough for one day, they can relax tonight & we can all restart a fresh tomorrow.

Day 2 confirmed to myself that Bambi was definitely the issue & she had a go once in the morning, though she did settle again & i was hopeful that i could get her to stop 🤞 because on the positive side, it was not continuous fighting & she had shown some affection the previous day.

Unfortunately in the late afternoon, it ended with me holting things again for the day because every time Bambi went near Buddy, she started to attack.

Day 3 unfortunately was very much the same as day 2, it seemed the more she was with Buddy the more she displayed this aggressive behaviour towards him, which obviously was unfair on a timid bun like himself & I didn't want to risk buddy getting seriously hurt... So I did at this point stop the bond going forward & contacted our customer.

🩷 Although alone Bambi is an absolutely lovely girl, unfortunately she was definitely showing severe territorial behaviour & would say it would be slim that she would bond to any bunny.

💙 Buddy is a wonderful timed lad & anyone would be lucky to have him as a bunny, he was also a great choice to be a companion bun.
Once Buddy had his own secure area, he certainly relaxed & was being inquisitive which was lovely to see ❤️

Unfortunately i can never guarantee a bond but we were all so hopeful, so it was a disappointing outcome for us all 😔

🌞 With our temperatures set to increase soon here at Windy Ridge, here are some of our tips to keep your bunnies comfortable.

If your bunny is fit & healthy, kept in the shade with plenty of cool water available, they should be just fine in the current predicted temperatures.

Please remember temperatures figures are set in the shade & not in full sun.

For hotter temperatures, our full "Summer heat & Heatstroke" information was posted recently, just a few posts down on our page & I will post them again as needed 😊

(21) 🧼 Cleaning Water bottles
& Litter trays 🧽

WATER BOTTLE'S: We like to sterilise our 🐰 bottles/crocs for an hour or two & a long handled bottle brush is very useful to get right into the bottom.

LITTER TRAYS: You carnt beat washing up liquid & sponge/ brush, however if needed, i use a small blob of limescale remover & a metal scourer for those really tough scaly calcified urine areas but please remember if you do so, to thoroughly wash over & rinse very well after.

☕ Good morning
Yesterday we got our Chartwell hutch into its final ⛱️ holiday boarding area 🎉

As previously mentioned my plans for the run area have changed.. to now give us our biggest area yet!

This is a shaded 12ft 5" x 6ft 5" space which consists of hutch with slabs along the sides & grass in the middle, meeting the RWAF rabbit space guidelines.

I've done a rough mock up of the plan going forward 😉 & yes the bottom of the hutch will be infilled, so no buns can escape underneath.
