Two of these dogs couldn't be trusted anywhere near other dogs before working with me.
Apollo (Husky) would scream and lunge at dogs (as well as paying no attention to his handler and pulling like a badger at the end of the lead) and Remie (Doodle) was so overly excited and frustrated at the presence of dogs that she would lunge and pull. If she managed to get close to a dog she would jump all over them and not be able to stop.
Now look at them! They both have manners; they both are engaged with their handler; they both can walk nicely on a short lead; recall is coming along nicely (Apollo is starting his e collar journey next week); and are no longer reactive to passing dogs. In fact, Apollo is one of the main dogs I utilise with new AK K9 dogs, as he is so neutral! He can still be a little silly with his owners, regarding passing dogs, which we are working on eliminating.
I provide School Days and Walk & Trains in order to supplement training for dogs. Paired with a 1:1 program is best. However, if an assessment has been given and homework is being followed (and no reactivity, aggression, or difficult behaviours are present) School Days and Walk & Trains can be provided without a 1:1 training program.
