Star loves the sea and the sand. To be honest she just loves being out and about experiencing different smells as long as she is with us. Nigel on the other hand gets so tired running on the sand and avoiding the sea (incase he drowns) 🤣, gets so worn out he spends most of his time asleep in his buggy. Which he gets in and out of himself. So cute when he puts himself down for a nap! As long as we are near them they are both happy.

What a lovely break we have had. Not looking forward to leaving here, but I am looking forward to seeing all the doggies again. Normal business resumes on Tuesday (5th August)

For a dog that can't see or hear star is so clever, seeking out the shade and knows what her body needs.
Anyone who thinks this dog doesn't deserve to live would only have to spend 10 minutes with her to know that she has a great life and lives basically like a normal dog.
People see what I do (rescuing disabled dogs) as a waste of time or they feel as though putting them to sleep would be easier. Which in a way it would, but if they have quality of life and are happy I am prepared to give them a chance. While everyone wants perfect pups I just want happy dogs.

It's been so warm today, and set to get hotter at the weekend. Some of the dogs have struggled, especially the older ones. We need to make sure they are calm and cool. Remember any sign of heat stroke do not soak them in cold water or make them drink freezing cold water. This can send them into shock. You need to slowly bring their temp down with cold towels on tummies (not back) and plenty of water to drink and try to keep them calm.
The cooling mats are great that you pick up cheap anywhere now such as BnM and amazon.

Arlo is one of our newer dogs to join the gang. He is beautiful and loves being part of a team. He is a bit cheeky at home and barks alot but the total opposite when out with me. (Not sure his mum believes me!) Always a happy boy

If ever there was a dog made for van life, it's this one! Love you Beautiful Bruce 💙. He would sit next to me all day if he could bless him. Such a good boy.

We are like one big family, here at Lucy's pet services. We love and care for your pets like they are our own and when my daughter heard Bella was suffering badly with her allergies, she just had to visit her to make her feel better.
Came in today to find a little gift and letter from Bella.
My owners are so lovely, that's why I look after their pets!

Scary stuff!

URGENT… PLEASE TAKE CARE
This morning at 9.30am on Castle Hill Park, between Beaumont Leys and Anstey Leicester a serious attack took place by thieves attempting to steal dogs.
A man and a woman, so you would think ok?
One of our volunteers partners was walking their 4 little terriers (all EMDR dogs) when he was attacked with a machete, sustaining severe injuries to his arm, two broken fingers, hit over the head, kicked and punched. He is now awaiting surgery.
Miraculously he held onto the dogs, who at this point were covered in their owners blood.
A similar situation was reported by a lone female dog Walker a couple of weeks ago who managed to get help from a nearby house.
Police obviously aware but members of the public please be vigilant.
Dog thieves are prepared to attack to get what they want
