Lloyd-Jones Canine Laser Therapy is a Mother and Daughter team, with years of experience. Laser Therapy has a great proven track record of improving tissue repair such as:
Wound healing - acute or chronic, but especially effective for non-healing wounds and pressure sores
Muscle, tendon & ligament injuries
Pain management for trauma & post surgical wounds
Inflammation & swelling

When stimulated

by Laser in this way wound healing is accelerated, thereby greatly enhancing recovery from accidental or post-surgical tissue trauma, soft tissue injuries, torn tendons, scarring or fractures. In addition it is extremely effective in neutralising infection and in stimulating the healing process where wounds are ‘non-healing’ by conventional methods. The advantage of Laser Treatment is that since there is no drug involvement, in can be used in conjunction with conventional veterinary practice without interfering with any medicinal administration. We have an easy access clinic just off Junction 13 of the M5, but we are also available to do home visits. We hope the above has answered some of your questions, but if you have any further queries please call to discuss, or send us a message.

Yuk... but Knowledge is Power !!

Ticks....urrgghhhh....
Tick season is well under way, and all dog and cat owners should be aware that these creatures (related to spiders, scorpians and mites) can carry diseases such as Lyme disease.
These clever critters climb up the stalks of long grasses and plants, and wait for their new host....they 'quest', by holding up their front legs, waving them around to detect body heat, carbon dioxide from their hosts breath, warmth, mositure and vibrations. They cannot jump or fly, and so will scramble very quickly onto their new host. They need to feed on blood at every one of their life stages...6 legged larvae, 8 legged nyph and then adult.
They can be hard to spot at various stages as they are so small...they can be poppy seed sized...
However - prevention is the best cure! We have many treatments that will kill the tick before it has a chance to infect your dog or cat (IF it is carrying a disease) - or you can remove any tick you see with one of our very simple to use tick removers. As long as you remove a tick within the first 24 hours, the risk of disease is greatly reduced.

**IMPORTANT PLEASE READ**

It is with a heavy heart that I am telling you that a family members dog died yesterday after playing with the garden hose with my nephews.
He suffered secondary drowning and devastatingly this was fatal. He was fit & healthy; he was the tender age of 3!

Fly high Basil 💔🐾

I personally wasn’t aware of secondary drowning and play with my dogs with my garden hose to cool them down. This is one of Blake’s favourite games.

What is secondary drowning??

Your pet has likely inhaled water into its lungs, and even after coughing it up or after observing water draining from the nose or mouth, there could be residual water remaining in the lungs. This could lead to pneumonia. Secondary drowning has been known to occur, even up to three days after the initial near-drowning. Exhaustion is almost always the cause of drowning. With a hose or even a sprinkler your dog can inhale the water and this can be fatal.
