FINALLY! A study to determine stress caused to dogs, by animal assisted therapies.
All dogs included in the study were trained and very experienced therapy dogs. 70% of them exhibited stress at the job they were being expected to do. Working with children caused more stress than adults with any condition.
70%. This needs to be considered much more for the dogs well being. "Service" dogs are becoming a fashion, unregulated, unsupported and unfair on the dogs.
