Two NEW breeds have been recognised by the Royal Kennel Club!

The Epagneul Francais is a gundog with roots going back to the 14th century
and
The Braque du Bourbonnais, a pointer dating back to the 16th century

Two very unusual breeds. Has anyone ever met one?

Two new breeds are becoming recognised 📣

The Braque du Bourbonnais originates in France’s Bourbonnais region and is an ancient pointing breed dating back to the 16th century. Known for its hunting ability and friendly, adaptable nature, it is growing in popularity both as a gundog and companion.

The Epagneul Français dates back to the 14th century, and is an ancient French gundog prized for its intelligence, versatility and gentle temperament. After a period of a decline, they're now growing popular as both a working dog and family companion.

Both breeds will be recognised from 1 October 2026, taking the total recognised breeds to 230.

We don't sell Years here, but if you feed your dog YEARS this is important!

⚠️RECALL ALERT: YEARS RECALLS ALL FRESH DOG MEALS⚠️

Years has announced a voluntary recall of all Years fresh dog meals with immediate effect.

The decision follows a growing number of reports of dogs developing sudden bilateral dry eye (keratoconjunctivitis sicca, or KCS) whilst fed the food.

According to Years, its investigation has identified a potential link with buckwheat, an ingredient used in all of its fresh meals since the start of this year.

If you currently feed Years
Stop feeding all Years fresh meals immediately.
Do not feed the meals to any other animal.
Follow Years' guidance regarding the recall, refunds and collection of unused food.

Symptoms to watch for
If your dog displays any of the following symptoms, contact your veterinary surgeon as soon as possible. Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly reduce the risk of permanent damage.

Redness or inflammation of the eyes
Thick eye discharge
Frequent blinking or squinting
Pawing or rubbing at the eyes
A dull, cloudy or dry appearance to the eye surface

CILLA has a bit of a sad story - her previous owners weren't very nice to her 😢
But she's safe now with her lovely new owner Kelly and is just the sweetest girl!

She is a BRACCO ITALIANO - an Italian hunting dog, and visited today for a slow feeder bowl to encourage her to eat more slowly. She gobbles her food down in case someone takes it away from her 😔

Things are looking up for you now Cilla! ❤️
