🐶 Volunteer Dog Trainers Wanted 🐶

Hi everyone! As many of you know, I’m currently working with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, and we’re looking for people who would be interested in becoming long-term volunteer dog trainers.

As a volunteer, you’ll be fully supported by me and the Hearing Dogs team while learning how to train one of these amazing dogs. You could be working with a pup from the nest up to 18months

We’re ideally looking for volunteers who have a fairly free schedule — for example, people who don’t work, work part-time, or work from home.

✨ What’s provided?
• Group classes
• 1-to-1 training support
• Team calls and ongoing guidance

📍 Current areas running: Stone and Stoke-on-Trent
📍 Potential new area: ST16 (if we get enough interest!)

Our volunteers play a vital role in helping our dogs become life-changing hearing dogs.

As a volunteer dog trainer, you will need to:
• Provide plenty of time and a safe, loving home
• Live within one of our catchment areas
• Commit to caring for a dog for 6–18 months
• Be patient while dogs are still learning
• Work closely with staff and attend regular training sessions
• Be prepared for typical puppy behaviours (toileting accidents, chewing, etc.)
• Be able to say goodbye when the dog moves on to support a deaf person

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been offered a new job working with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People — a truly amazing opportunity and the start of a brand-new adventure! 🐾💜

Don’t worry — I’ll still be offering 1-2-1 and behaviour sessions, although my availability may be a little more limited as I settle into this new role.

Please note that group classes will be on hold until further notice, except for the classes currently running and the 8th November classes, which will still go ahead as planned.

I kindly ask for your patience with return calls and emails as I adjust my schedule — everything will continue to run, just around my new job!

I don’t normally share things like this, but this is for a very good friend and her amazing GSD, Baloo – truly one of the most gentle and loving dogs you could ever meet. 💛

He now needs some extra operations, and if you’re able to spare anything at all to help towards the costs, it would mean the world to them. Every little bit helps. 🐾
