What a lovely day we had yesterday!

We headed across to Appleton Grange for one of their shows with two year old Albarosa Black Betty (Amorutta (by Jazz) x Briarwood Revolution).

This was her first proper show, and only her second time leaving home, the first being as a foal at foot when she attended the futurity. We had entered her in the mixed youngstock class. She was fabulous in her go around and individual show, a little restless in the line up but was placed 1st with some lovely comments from the judge. We did take her back into the championship but unfortunately once again she grew a little restless in the line up so was unplaced!

She was a gem from start to finish. Loaded and travelled like a pro, and for only her 2nd bath and plaiting she stood like a rock!

So proud of her! Nothing like finally getting to take your homebreds out!

This mare just continues to show how incredible she is!

Hound exercising to start the week, followed by working hunter classes on Saturday! Her first time jumping away from home since June 2021, straight into the 80cm jumping clear and coming 3rd to a friend and her wonderful boys!
Followed by a trip to YRC for BD on Sunday. Winning both Medium clases overall, by a nearly 6% gap in the first test and nearly 3% in the second test.
That's her now qualified for Winter area festivals at Medium level.

We are so very lucky to have her in our lives!
For those looking for a horse to be as cool as she is.... we do have her 2yr old gelding by our wonderful Briarwood Revolution and he is available to a 10* competitive home.
He is sure to be as incredibly versatile as both of his parents!

Pictures below from Saturday, hound exercise and a couple of older pictures from dressage as there was no video or photos from sunday!

Love watching the little girls grow! Can't believe how much they've all sprouted this summer!

Both the 2yr old Fillies (Tess and Betty - both by Briarwood Revolution) are standing around 16/16.1hh.

Then the yearlings are growing just as well, livery Willow (by Briarwood Revolution) is actually starting to catch up to the others (albeit a little bit at least), and Sophie (By Mick - Apache x Ferro) is not too far off the 2yr olds.

August is officially here and with that means hound exercise and the hunters increasing their work load ready for the season ahead.
We've already been lucky enough to attend two, one with a first timer, who had a great experience for his first time seeing the hounds and being in such an environment. And the second with a more experienced horse getting them back out in the setting and gaining a little more fitness.

We still have some availability for hunter livery for the 25/26 season which includes:
*Full livery
*Fitness work
*Jump schooling
*Clipping
*Bathing and plaiting up.
*Washing off and checking them over.
*There is an also the option for us to take them out for them to gain experience - this can also be arranged separately to the livery.

Little Firestick ❤️ such a dude!

Another novice under his belt, unfortunately a 2 did creep in once again when he decided to stop to say hi to the horse working around the arena as we were heading into our counter canter! This was costly for his overall mark, but a very nice test with consistent 7s. He did get another score towards his winter area festival qualification.

He also had a go at his 3rd ever Elementary test today - 3rd outing of 5 with just shy of 62% from a list 1 judge. Very fair marks and lovely comment to finish - both judges today commented on his quality and the higher marks to come once he relaxes and gains confidence at this level. Which is lovely to hear! He just lacked a bit of confidence in the harder movements today so a few little mistakes crept in, but he tried so hard!

That's now him qualified for Associated Champs at both Novice and Elementary! Just 1 more score needed for Winter area festivals qualification!

Now a couple of chilled weeks for him before October hard work arrives ❤️
What a boy he is ❤️

The Jockey club ROR National Championship 2025.

Firesticks first National championship

Novice Restricted National dressage championship - 23rd out of 31 with just shy of 65%.
He tried really hard but the atmosphere slightly got the better of him, they good stuff was great and got the marks to match, but unfortunately a few added bucks and a couple of shouting moments cost us bringing the score down. Still so proud of him, he really does take it all in his stride!
I'm sure it will all come together on the day soon, but he's honestly coming on so much. I wouldn't want to be on any other horse than him ❤️ he really does give me everything and more and keeps providing us with more and more exceptional memories!

He did however come home with a new friend for the wagon..... Tiny Tom the lion!

Enjoy just a few of the professional photographs I couldn't help but buy!
