Rescuing an Older Dog

Whilst I was working around the Midlands at the weekend, I popped in to see this lovely girl too.

A rescue, aged 13/14 when she was rehomed and loved so much. Not only did they make a difference to this dog's life, she also made a huge difference to their lives.

She gives them fun, a reason to walk, a reason to laugh and a reason to love another dog again.......she was having steak for tea, and why not.

No matter what age, breed or size - there is a loving home for all dogs. Rescue provides that opportunity to connect people and dogs together.

We have a flying visit this weekend from Nessie while her fosters are away. She had a night with the lovely Bob and Chester, a couple of nights here at Boycies HQ and then she’s off for the rest of the week with April and Melv.

We are so grateful for all the help
We get with the Boycies dogs, it was a little bit of a panic with Nessie, as her vaccinations weren’t up to date on arrival, so she’s only had her first set so far.

This meant that we had no option to place her in Boarding kennels.
As we don’t have kennel facilities ourselves, this means we rely on help from our wonderful supporters.

They always come up trumps, and between us, holiday is covered and Nessie is having lots of fun, meeting other dogs, new people and travelling around in the Boycies van doing jobs today!

She loved the storage at SureStore Storage Stafford…where she chose a couple of toys while we were there! 😂❤️

When they’re back, Nessie will go back to Pin and Dan, where she’ll
Wait for someone to come forward and adopt her.

She has already lost lots of weight, with her new diet and exercise regime, she must be feeling much better already. I noticed her weight loss and better mobility straight away.. again, a brilliant job done by our amazing Foster’s ❤️❤️

The sun is shining and the weekend is here, so let’s have a nice adoption post to make it perfect!

Bailey came in to us a few months ago, a change of circumstances meant she needed a new family.

Bailey is a typical spaniel..1,000 miles an hour, everything is quick and full of fun! She has a beautiful nature and just needed a home experienced with spaniels to help her learn how to calm down.

Tony and Kim came forward when they heard that Bailey was looking for a home.

They already have 2 gorgeous spaniel boys, both Neutered, both dog friendly and both older and much calmer than Bailey.

Seemed to be a perfect match!
So after a Homecheck (Thank you Sam) and a meet and greet…off Bailey went as a foster to adopt.

There were definitely some teething problems, Bailey was a little jealous and grumpy sometimes when the boys had their cuddle time, she needed lots of time and effort to make sure she learned more manners and social skills….but with help from our lovely Caroline ( Help At Hand Dog Training & Behaviour) and consistent positive based training…she has settled in to her new life and is loving it.
She also had a little complication after the spay, but it was easily remedied by our vets Island Veterinary Centre - Stafford & Stone

So yesterday, the decision was made, that Bailey would become a permanent member of the family!! ❤️❤️

We are so happy for Bailey, and Kim, Tony and family…and we can’t wait to see more updates over the years of Baileys adventures.
