Some of you have reached out for advise on how to book HAF activities and about the eligibility of looked after children.
Accessing a HAF Place via the Eequ Portal – Guidance for Foster Carers
Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) places are available to children in care (LAC – Looked After Children) but please note that codes are no longer used when booking through the Eequ portal.
✅ Important Booking Guidance:
When booking a place:
• Do NOT use a HAF code – these are no longer in use.
• Instead, you must select “LAC” (Looked After Child) as your eligibility type when prompted.
📝 Sample Note for Eligibility (to include on booking form):
“This child is a Looked After Child (LAC) currently placed in foster care and residing within the [insert name of local authority] local authority.”
You may be asked to confirm this with a short written note like the above when prompted during booking.
⚠️ Please Note:
Places for LAC children are allocated on a discretionaryPlease basis. This means that while eligible, places may be limited and are not guaranteed. You are encouraged to book early and ensure all information is completed accurately.
