Truffyās Day Outā¦..
Couldnāt let him go on his own so we joined Truffy for a day out. Began the day at Fairwayās in Ashbourne, a dog friendly garden centre for breakfast ā¦.. they offer a nice dog seating area outside the cafe which is lovely but without asking the wasps decided to share our breakfast. The cafe is large, spacious and less than half a dozen people were eating in there but still they refused to let us sit inside when we asked so we had no choice other than to let the uninvited guests dine with us, however, we didnāt hang around š Other people eating outside were also not happy to share their bacon bap with the wasps and anyway in my opinion dogs are cleaner than some people you see in cafes these days but hey ho. Next stop ā¦. Carsington Water. Lovely and sunny by this time and good to see families hustling and bustling around enjoying what was on offer. We headed straight for the cafe for a coffee as we hadnāt had one with breakfast as we had rushed off. Again only outdoor seating, which was fine ā¦. We sat under a large umbrella and had a lovely view of the reservoir. The coffee was delicious but blow me the pesky wasps must have followed us from Fairwayās!! I recognised them as the others were yellow, black and angry and so were these š¤¦š»āāļø One lady and her husband sat down to enjoy a scone oozing with jam and cream but it didnāt take long for the them to take flight and perform the perfect landing on top of the scones whilst others performed front crawl on top of their coffee taking advantage of wasps dine free so eat & drink as much as you like !! A dog sitting on another table (with his family, not alone) found them very annoying and snapped like a Venus flytrap every time one buzzed passed his nose much to Truffys surprise which prompted him bark at the wasps in support of his fellow dog on the other table.
Next stop Ashbourne and a little mooch around the town. We then debated where to go next for a late lunchā¦.. it HAD to have a dog friendly indoor eating area. We agreed on Hales Hallā¦. sat in a room which was lovely, dog friendly, cool, very peaceful and guess what ā¦.. NO WASPS š Thank heavens!!!
The meal was absolutely beautiful and a lovely end to the day!! Truffy is shattered by the way š„°
