Applying some red light laser for a post surgery proximal suspensory desmitis case to help heal the suture line. Applying visible laser helps accelerate the healing process by enhancing the proliferation of cells and reducing the inflammation at the site of injury. Low-level laser therapy also has many other benefits to our horses such as reducing pain and helping heal muscular and tendon injuries. This means your horse can recover quicker and come back better 💪

Pain in the neck!?

Is your horse stiff through the neck when riding and happens to be a door kicker? They might have a painful Brachiocephalicus muscle. The Brachiocephalicus is responsible for bringing the foreleg forward and flexing and turning the head. It’s not the easiest muscle to treat because its location is awkward but I use laser and some massage to relieve the tension through the neck. Jewel in the video is a serial Brachiocephalicus sufferer, she always needs it treated due to her habit of door kicking 🙄 here you can see the relief in her face when she’s having some laser treatment. She never likes the massage as it is uncomfortable for her but the relief and benefits after is so worth it. Enjoy the video clip with the skeleton of the horse showing where the Brachiocephalicus is located, palpation and initiating pain response and laser in action.

Hi I’m Ellie, the physiotherapist of Elle Performance. I graduated in 2021 with a first in my veterinary physiotherapy degree. I‘m always one to be the best that I can so I decided to see if I could qualify and become a vet and therefore started my journey into becoming a vet! I specialise in horses but can treat any animal as I have experience with all sorts of animals! If you’re looking for some physio for your animals I can massage, stretch, asses range of motion, gait analysis, provide rehabilitation programmes and have electrotherapies to complement my treatments. Because I’m studying to be a vet I have extensive knowledge into the anatomy and I am constantly furthering my education so can provide advice or answer any questions you may have.
