✅ Check smoke alarms regularly and make sure everyone in your home knows the escape plan.
✅ Keep leashes, carriers, and pet emergency supplies near an easy-to-reach exit.
✅ Use pet alert window stickers so firefighters know how many animals may be inside.
✅ Never leave pets unattended around candles, fireplaces, stovetops, or other open flames.
✅ Secure loose wires and cover or remove stove k***s to help prevent accidental fires.
✅ Practise evacuating with your pets and make sure their collars, ID tags, and microchip details are up to date.

Expert tip: if a fire happens, get out safely first and never put yourself at risk by going back inside. Let firefighters know where your pets are likely to hide.
